Hello Ozbargainers,
I am planning on going away from Melbourne to Korea in July for about two weeks. When I was looking at tickets for 7 July to 21 July two weeks ago, they were around $740-780 (Vietnam airlines). I've checked again today for the same time period, and the cheapest ticket for the period is now around $860. My plan was to wait until the 3rd week of January to see if they'd do any promotions but now, I'm worried that the price of the ticket would increase even more. Would it be a smart idea to just book the ticket now or wait till the 3rd week of January? Thanks guys.
Looks like you're flying during school holidays. Have a read of this thread as the info will probably be relevant to you also:

Keep in mind that July is also summer holiday time in the northern hemisphere.
But, would it be inappropriate to think that AirAsia may have a big sale soon? Well, even if they do it probably won't be for travel in July.
With foreign airlines the ups and downs of the Aussie dollar can also be a factor in prices.
