  • 25% of the season over - they do a 25% off deal
Whats the bet the price will be a whopping 50% off, when the season is 50% over.

Overall, not a great deal IMO considering how much the AUD has fallen

    • what if you pay 25% off the monthly rate?

i would be glad to pay 50% off monthly rate. but i dont think that will ever happen.

    • I can't be the only one who wants to subscribe only now that the NFL season is close to completion and the NBA season is heating up.

Not all games are created the same - the early season games I've seen have been a bit uninspired, except for a select few - so, personally, pretty happy to have waited out a decent discount.

  • Better off getting a ballstreams subscription for ~120 aud. Better quality, plex and chromecast plugins and replays are up straight after the game. Plus the 12 month subscription can be paused at the end of the NBA season and restarted at the start of the next one.

    • The quality is comparable, ballstreams streams at a higher rate, but then the servers arent as good as the NBA league pass servers in Australia. NBA league pass good device support however I think Apple has the better compatibatility 'natively' - for me working of the box on Apple TV + Chromecast natively are important.

Overall I agree Ballstreams is a good service. However, not sure that viewing ballstreams in Australia is actually 'legal' or 'authorised' by the NBA. Don't think they can do anything about it, but for me its not worth the risk of one day losing the service I suppose. Paying comparable prices for 'authorised' service IMO is better.

      • Not too sure if you've used ballstreams lately, but they have had Australian servers for a while now and they're brilliant. I have access to a league pass and still prefer to subscribe to ballstreams purely from an ease of access point of view. App on my phone, plex channel for my TV and obviously in my browser on my pc. Has support for a lot of others as well including ps3, xbox 360 and apple TV to name a few. Not a lot of risk as far as I'm concerned, getting a full 12 months for half the price of a league pass subscription, to a site that's been running for years without an issue. To each their own though.

        • Ya I heard they have had Aussie servers but also heard you need a somewhat decent connection for it?

Ball streams is a good service. But for the same price of around $100usd I think I'd choose the authentic thing. That's just me

    • I much prefer to pay a bit more for something from the NBA instead of something that is unauthorised - of course Ballstream is cheaper, they don't pay NBA anything! No idea how they haven't been shut down yet - contrary to what a lot of people think, Dutch courts never permitted anyone to replay entire games without copyright owner's consent. Must be some reason we don't know about, given NBA obviously has the legal budget to take action.

QOS wise, I'm pretty happy with League Pass and PS3 support in particular. Don't see any reason to buy ballstream quality-wise when international users don't have any blackouts (which is a major issue with US users).

  • +1

Thanks for the share. I like watching the condensed games when I'm short of time.
I found logging in from El Salvador was slightly cheaper at $104.99USD for the premium.

  • Awesome work. I just got a standard league pass using hola set to Argentina and the 25% off discount. Worked out to US$75 or about AUD$92. Already watched a few games and thoroughly impressed.
