Hobbywarehouse up to 30% off Traxxas RC cars, up to 57% off HSP

Pretty good prices compared to usual Australian stock, I'd suggest purchasing Traxxas brand over HSP.
With our dollar sinking at an all time low, I'd expect these cars will probably go up in price next year.

  • Is there some way to sort by price?

    • not that I'm aware of sorry, is a little annoying…

  • Thanks Op. The cheapest Traxxas is $179. HSP cars are a lot cheaper. I know u said Traxxas is better but is HSP a lot worse? Thinking of getting a buggy to run around.

    • +1

HSP are OK for beginners who don't want to spend a lot of money. The plastic parts do break very easily and you will find yourself having to do repairs, which once again for a beginner can be frustrating having to source replacement parts and then having to install them.

You really do get what you pay for, the traxxas models have higher quality parts e.g stronger motors, steering hubs, lower sway arms, suspension, controller, battery, replacement parts are easy to source. If you can afford it, I'd suggest an entry level traxxas, possbily the stampede 1/10 or the e-revo 1/16 both are $299.

If you're willing to spend a little more I'd then suggest looking at "brushless" models, these models have quicker engines.

There is a lot more I could add e.g you also have the option to upgrade to li-po batteries which will increase performance also note the standard charger that comes with these cars is not a quick charger meaning another expense if you wish to purchase a better one.

      • Thanks Op for your info. Cheers for that.

  • "With our dollar sinking at an all time low"

Not even beginning to get close.

    • Maybe "all time low" wasn't the best wording, but to drop 20cents in 6 months to usd is pretty substantial and will definatley affect prices on imported goods.

  • Hi OP - What batteries and charger would you recommend to go with the Traxxas Revo?

    • +1

I'm not sure on battery brand, I generally always use a 2s 7.4v in my brush less cars. Heaps of power and they last hours on end.

Charger - get a decent one like the B6. I'd suggest any good balance charger is what you want though.

I spent $150 with asiatees recently for black Friday, got 3 lipo and 4 nimh, enough for 3-4 cars going all day.

      • Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

        • You're welcome. Also buy a genuine charger, mine is an imax b6ac, cost me $60ish delivered and is genuine. I also have a Chinese clone but it definitely runs far hotter (i'd never charge my batteries with it whilst I was away) and makes me question the quality.

  • They're changing the prices :( was looking at e-revo 5608. A few hours ago it was $849,now it's $888.

    • Yes the promotion has expired.
