Logitech GS400s for $30 is a pretty good deal too… I have one and highly recommend it!

    • +1

      yeah its in post :)

    • A bit concerning though when the product isn't even found on their site.

    • best mouse!

  • Momentum and the 50inch sony are the pick of the bunch. I expected better on the 60inch TVs

    • +1

The Sony is good but not great considering it was $748 3 weeks ago :) I like the Momentum too, think I will get a pair

        • plus delivery

        • +2

@mikljon: Yes same delivery charges as if ordered through DS. Didn't realise this was active. Only posted the link to highlight it had been this price before. Quite a few other DS specials are listed here on COTD https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/44395/. Good if you have any store credit or vouchers.

      • +3

Momentum is the same price at David Jones (no surprise there), so if you are able to combine it with other offers (such as the $30 back from $150 spend from AMEX) it may be better to go through them.

  • +1

    allow 1 year for delivery.

    • -1

Really, a year, why that long?

      • What he mean is next year. Next year = 7 more days , D'oh

        • Oops. I use to love those new year jokes… how did I not get that… I thought literally '1 year' from purchase. Embarrassing. Sorry.

  • Hi Trent86, what's the best value soundbar in this deal? Thanks :)

    • +2

Personally I would go for the Sony One, I don't think the Philips one has Bluetooth

      • +1

Is the sony soundbar worth the money? Much better than standard tv sound?

        • -1

Most Tv's have around 10-20w which doesn't do movies justice most the time, so having 60w speaker and A dedicated sub would help a lot, I desperately need one for my old Samsung TV Which you can hardly hear if people are in the room talking :)

        • +2

A pair of computer speakers would be better than the standard tv audio

      • +4
        • Yeah I posted that deal last week, Handy if a dse is closer :)

    • +1

I'd go for soemthing like the Volls and a little Topping amp over a soundbar. Small form factor and great sound.

  • No deals on antennas? Is this even Dick Smith?

    • Yes 30% off DSE Indoor antennas

      • I'm actually after an outdoor one. Is it indoor only?

        • Yeah indoor only, no mention of outdoor but that doesn't mean there won't be any on sale so worth checking tonight or Friday

        • Will do, thanks. Worst case I will try to bargain them down on boxing day!

  • +1

Is this the best bargain we can get for a FHD 50'' Smart tv or should wait for some more bargains?

50LB5820 50" FHD SMART LED LCD TV $699

  • looks like canon 1200D will be around $200 after cashback, shame no good deal for higher end models.

    • +1

I think it would be more. There current special is $399, but they have been selling this at $449 and sometimes $499. I think it would go back up to one of these prices before the 25% comes off.

      • -1

Yeah unity1 is right it will be off regular price most likely but you never know :)

        • I guess we can wait till 4PM to find out. But if it is $200 that would be a seriously good price.

        • @draistlin: Bloody oath.

      • Right you are, already showing $449.

    • Guys, 449$ is after the 25% off, their system showing it as 599$. What a Dick advertising and wastage of time. Would have been a great gift though if it were actually 25% off.

Did anybody buy it with 25% off?

  • Does anyone know if I purchase something now lets say the "50LB5820 50" FHD SMART LED LCD TV $699" and if the price drops further on boxing day or in Jan Sale, can I ask them for the refund (difference)?

    • +1

Didn't know DSE have after purchase price guarantee.

  • Feel silly getting the Momentum's for $116 in the ebay sale.

  • +4

Price for Canon MG5560 printer is currently $65, and the Boxing Day "special" is $69…..good one Dick!

  • Thnx

  • thanks, I'm going to check out the tv and see if I like what I see. good price.

  • Hmmmm "crazy" price for the Philips Soundbar With Subwoofer $99
Officeworks has been at $79 all week.
    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/philips-sound…

    • Yeah and JB has the $149 Sony one for $147.
      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/soundbars/so…

    • +1

Officeworks one has bluetooth, but seems no subwoofer in the picture.

    • NO Subwoofer on that model

      • +1

Clearly states "External Subwoofer Adds Thrill To The Action" in features

Stock levels are shady though. Guess thats why I got the neg

  • The LG 50 inch or the Sony 50 inch - both at $699?

  • +1

Review of the Sony Soundbar (less the BT) here: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/audio/3433532/sony-ht-ct6…

  • Hi Trent, any idea if these deals will become available with click and collect? Specifically after the Sony KDL50W700B.

    • +1

For anyone interested, I called Disk Smith and they told me click and collect is disabled until January 1st.

  • Samsung S4? They still have stock?

  • These prices already appear to be active via David Jones (with free delivery if ordering from David Jones).

    http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/en/davidjones/sony-50-fhd-…

    • You sure it's free delivery? Free is for the standard delivery and not bulky… not that I've tried. Anyone?

    • +1

Yep just got the Sony 40" for $499 less Amex $30 cash back…free delivery.

Last week it was $566 and was told by Myer this was well below their cost.

Better price than the 20% eBay big brands also.

  • +3

DSE 39.5" telly $294 "cheapest ever" umm, wasn't it like $250 before? (and $224 after ebay discount but I won't count that)

    • Indeed it is not real boxing day offers…we should wait the 26th.

    • I bought one at $224, store pickup, sound quality hollow and no "top end" and pretty crap, probably i will add a cheap pair of PC speakers.
Picture a little "washed out" but some user settings adjustment might fix that.
      However for $224…. Bargain :)

  • +1

I swear, someone's just negging TRENT86 to troll.

Great post as usual @TRENT86 (Y)

  • Bought Samsung Tab 4 yesterday for 314 :(

  • We have renamed our TV Trent86 and look forward to the day he opens his own store.

  • +1

Sorry guys, but I couldn't find that 60" Panisonic, only a 55" pani sold for $1049??

    • It's on the page after the TV's.

    • Jb has the Sony 60" KDL60W600B FHD Smart TV at $998

    • It's on last page bottom left of catalogue :)

  • Samsung UA40H5000 they have for $469 is not the cheapest ever, i've lodged a complaint on their website:

    To whom it may concern
I note that in your Boxing Day catalogue you have the Samsung UA40H5000 FHD LED TV advertised as "our cheapest ever" at $469.
I also note that in or around 10/11/2014 you advertised the same TV at $466.
Please amend your advertisement or I will be reporting this to consumer affairs
    Kind Regards

    • Ebay prices are not included

      • +1

wasn't ebay, was just a Dick Deal

        • Well $3 off I think we can handle that

    • Someone has to keep the bastards honest…

      • +2

I wouldn't call them bastards after the offers they have had the past few weeks, I would still call them totally awesome compared to most other retailers

        • +1

A very loose Don Chipp reference.

  • +1

    Fitbit flex @ $84.15 and
Fitbit charge @ $120.70 is excellent pricing!

  • Any good deal on 32 inch tv guys? Looking To buy one this season

  • +2

    I'm gonna buy 2 x Y550's. great price.

  • +1

    online sales start now

  • Picked up a Samsung S4 phone…Missed last deal…This time grabbed it.

    • +1

399 seems to be the standard price for S4s now. You can get an S4 for $398 at Good Guys, with bonus $50 store voucher if bought online.

      • Saw this too, lucky i didn't buy from DS, not really special on S4 anymore, this is now its standard new price … some stupid people selling 2nd handed ones for over $400 on dumtree, what a joke !!!

      • Jb could be talked down to $320 for the s4 when I was phone shopping about 3 mths ago…

        • which JB? in Sydney?

        • No, it was in Victoria.

  • Cannon eos 1200 still showing full price, has not been reduced yet.

  • Hmm yeah monitors are showing full price too

  • great price on the Canon 70D SLK

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/digital-slrs/canon-70d-slk-dslr-…

    $1161…

After the Canon $150 cashback, it brings it back down to $1011 !!!

Shame they aren't doing any deals on the other lens combos for this camera…

    • The discount of $155 equates to roughly 11% of the original price.
Where did the "25% off DSLR & Camcorders" come from? I couldn't see a reference to it on the dick website.

    • Can't even tell if this is body only or comes with a lens.

The web site has gone to hell in a handbasket…here's another error:

      "Canon Powershot SX400IS Camera
The PowerShot SX400IS is Sony's most compact SuperZoom yet."

I hope Canon know that Sony stole their Powershot ;-)

      • "SLK" = single lens kit

        • Thanks for that info. Would be a definite deal if DSE sold more Canon lenses.

Assuming that's the 18-55, it still looks like these deals would be better:
          http://www.camerapro.com.au/canon-eos-70d-with-ef-s-18-135mm…

          http://www.camerapro.com.au/canon-eos-70d-with-ef-s-18-135mm…
          PLUS
choice of lens over $200 for another $150 cashback. (I'm leaning towards 18-135 if I were to buy).

          OR
          http://www.digidirect.com.au/slr_cameras/canon/canon_eos_70d…
          PLUS
choice of lens for another $150 cashback.

        • @syousef:

the first 2 links are the same.. but the price is already after double cashback

the digidirect one is body only.. so for an additional $26 you can get the standard 18-55 included with the DSE deal

        • +1

          @CVonV:

1st link gives you the 18-135 (not the STM version) plus the 40mm pancake for $1269 after cashback so 2 lenses, much more useful than the kit lens for just $258 more. If you bought them separately you'd be up for a lot more than that.

2nd link was meant to be this one.
          http://www.camerapro.com.au/canon-eos-70d-digital-slr-camera…
$985 body only after the single cashback.
So you could combine with 18-135 STM
          http://www.camerapro.com.au/canon-efs18-135isst-ef-s-18-135m…
And claim the second cashback. ($399-$150=$249) Total is $1234 and you have a lens you don't want to sell off on ebay due to it's limited range.

SO yes you get the 18-55 for $26 but you forfeit extra $150 from double cash back that can be put towards 18-135 STM.

…unless you actually want another Canon product from DSE worth more than $200 in which case the cash back could be applied to that.

Only thing is I've never dealt with Camerapro.

        • @syousef:

all very good points mate which i pretty much agree with.. i myself got the 700D body only + S200 from JB hifi.. still deciding on what lens to get.. hopefully digidirect have a sale soon

        • +1

          @CVonV:

I'm a Nikon shooter stuck on the the D90 (multiple bodies, multiple lenses, SB-800, SB-910)…but I've been tempted to try out Canon for a while. My wife bought the 600D body only from BigW a couple of weeks ago and I'm getting it tomorrow. (I worked it out and she knows I know)…I know Nikon gear well but I'm all but lost trying to work out lenses. My goto lenses on the Nikon are 18-70 and 70-300, and I think 18-55 will just about kill me for general shooting ;-)

        • At Camerapro, 70d body is $1078 and 18-135mm IS STM lens is $359. After $300 cashback it is $1137.
Assuming digiDirect has a "10% off sale", their 70d/18-135mm IS STM kit is $1171.20
However, $1125.6 if you buy the items separately, with the "10% off sale" and $300 cashback.
