Now Cricket Australia want you to pay for that national institution, too.

The grandstand abc and channel 9 commentary are free to listen to, you don't need to pay anything
Whilst free, if you're using a browser you do have to sign up to Cricket Aus website just to be able to listen to ABC's radio coverage. That's a lousy change. :-(
Yeah… I'm ot about to knock CA when it comes to media rights. In the 'olde days' they would ony show an hour or 2 of test cricket and nothing of the one dayers if it was played in your city. At least now we get all free to air, unlike the AFL where you can not see a single minute of some games unless you've got Foxtel.
Channel 7 shows 5 games a weekend, most of which are live. 3 years ago that was 4 games and 2-3 weren't live and played at 11pm+. Going way back to the olde days, it was 1 quarter of 1 game. So AFL FTA coverage has improved immensely too.
Was going to get this for Android but was put of by the poor reviews…hope this version is better
It's a nice app, it's just that the layout is clearly designed with iOS in mind.

Yeah I had the same question, found the answer in the FAQ panel. Sign up free from 12am-7pm on the day, valid for 24 hours, have to sign up to Australian Cricket Family to get the free deal.
Still showing as $4.99.
