    https://ebgames.com.au/ps3-206182-New-Look-12GB-PlayStation-…

Id almost say this ps3 is better more games blu ray player and free online gaming and the console has wifi unlike that old 360

    • Maybe, but it's "almost" twice the price…

      • -2

Have you see the price for the wifi adapter? cheapest i could find was like $50 on ebay.

offline only is fine but online ps3 so much better since it's and free and wifi inbuilt.

          http://gizmodo.com/5133447/how-to-add-wi-fi-to-your-xbox-360…

Personally I wouldn't buy this pro model since it's a bit dated and doesn't have wifi (plus I already have a 360)

I'd spend a bit extra for a newer model.

It seems like you're fanboying a bit holden. But I'm not going to argue.

If someone wants to play offline then this is a pretty good deal. If you wanna socialize with your friends, get a XBONE cause they've probably already upgraded.

          @holden93:
          What does "fanboy" mean?

        • A generic adapter is like $20 on ebay. Having said that, youd get a better deal off gumtree for a second hand xbox - fro $100 u should get a newer console, 2 controllers and more/newers games. No warranty but ive bought a few for media extenders and noever had one die on me

        • @SnowDragon: I always got confused how ozbargainers paid money for an adapter when most people could rig up a wifi connection like MacGyver for free

        • or you could just plug it into your switch

yeah i wouldnt touch this crap… a bet new ones will be $125 soon when stores realise they got too many 360s

        • +3

Why neg holden93. He/she is just pointing out that there maybe an alternate deal that might be of some interest to others. Isn't that what ozbargain is about.

        • -1

          @Lovemybargains: I didn't neg anyone.

        • @holden93:

          Check his punctuation, mate.

        • -1

@tomsco: My bad commented right after i woke up lol

        • @holden93:

No worries. BTW, I'd recommend te PS3 over the 360 as well.

    • Is that ps3 online only?

    • Cash Converters sell PS3s of various generations for about $120 - $160 if memory serves. Usually you can negotiate the price and/or get them to throw in some extras.

  • Is the 360 still a good buy I want the blue version I'm not much of a gamer

    • i thought this Xbox pretty cheap, if you are not really much of a gamer, just buy it. don't need to spend lot money

    • -4

If you like blue and don't like gaming then just refrain from sex.

2x non gaming blue coming your way!

    • The old models are still good, but can be really noisy, and obviously don't have the inbuilt wifi, the blue model is nice and all but I think it's missing an audio output port or something compared to the first patch of slim 360's (not too sure tbh)

    • If you're looking for a cheap device to stream YouTube, iView, US sports (with subscription fees) and other such things, then it's a good purchase.

Ordered this last time during the Mad Monday sale, will be picking it up today to see what the build/quality is like. Will post in about three hours time :)

    • +6

Must be enjoying gta V lol

      • +3

Hahahaha enjoyed Fable 3 + MW2 too much.

It's a fat console, but everything works. The cables may be a bit dirty, but I guess that's to be expected. The controller + console itself is in good condition, and the games are just your standard pre-owned games (some of them still had the stickers attached, some had a manual, some didn't, one has an alternative EB game cover).

Just be prepared with some batteries if you want to play immediately, the wireless controller does require 2 Double A batteries.

        • enjoyed Fable 3…..too much

I was led to believe this wasn't possible.

Was in an EB yesterday and 2nd hand GTAV's were $28, so if someone without any sort of console is buying this in order to play GTAV, it's a pretty bloody good deal; there were non-ozbargain folks paying $98 just for the game closer to release.

        • @COR80:

I enjoy my handshake simulator 2012 too much :P

  • Beats my old 1st gen Playstation which is probably the last dedicated games system I had. $98 + 5 games is a winner.I'm wondering if it will it work on my old CRT tv and willI I need to unplug my VHS to use it ;)

    • It can work on CRT but a lot of the games won't as they have a minimum refresh rate requirement. Good excuse to upgrade your tv.

    • +1

Just use the supplied RF modulator between the VCR and the TV… It's not that hard?

    • I have a 2006 CRT that has only just been replaced by a newer plasma. There was not one game that didn't play on it; Bioshock Infinite, Arkham City, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2 etc (but I can't speak for later 2013-14 games or dual XB1/360 games).

All I used was the red/white/yellow av etc, absolutely no issues.

  • EB should be able put out a better deal considering you could get a brand new xbox 360 with wifi built in, last boxing day for $69 with a 3 game bundle. Also xbox one and ps4 are pretty cheap considering they haven't been out very long compared to previous gen's consoles, I'd pass on this as games can be had for $10 anyway.

    • There's no guarantee that they'll be doing that again this year.

      • +1

I know but a year afterward prices should surely go down on an old product not up? I'm happy to see my xbox 360 is appreciating!!

    • It was probably a clearance sale to get rid of backstocks of last gen consoles

      • Obviously not much of a clearance they could of held onto them and earned money.

  • +2

I'm wondering if you might get the older non HDMI version or one of the early problematic revisions. Anything other than the last 1st generation console revision Jasper that is known to have problems such as RROD or E76 etc?

    Xbox 360 identification and revisions

  • Sounds like a good deal for someone who doesn't play games online like me. Does it have HDMI?
I do already have a PS3 and PS4 so not sure if I should get this as well… is it worth getting for Forza 3? I've already got GTA5 and GT6 as well as drive club but I've heard Forza is pretty good

  • +2

Sooo tempted. Last console I had was the legendary N64.

    • I own every console from the time of the N64's release (except the PS4) and I've got to say… it's still my favourite.

    • Presumably you're also on steam, so if you just haven't gamed on a console, well, only you can determine how much to value that.

However if by saying "Last console I had was the legendary N64" mean't you hadn't played games since then, and were just now going to start experiencing a whole generation or two's greatest titles for the first time, for all of about $5 a game second-hand…..jealous as hell.

  • For a moment I thought this would be great for the kids for Christmas,
Then I saw the titles - GTA, COD. Guess this is not for kids.

They can stick to the Wii - ancient tech and all :)
Unless there is a comparable deal with kids (not teens) games?

    • +2

The 360 is just as outdated as the Wii. I recommend getting a Wii U- It's the cheapest next gen console and has lots of fun-for-all-ages games.

    • +1

No, don't make them stick to the Wii; there's more than a few great age-appropriate games on the 360 that you can pick up on gumtree etc for stuff-all.

For example, a 360 and Portal 2 could be picked up on gumtree for $100-ish, at most; the way kids need to collaborate and laterally think in order to puzzle-solve and progress together, on the same screen, makes a cheap 360 easily worth the price of, say, a big family day at the movies.

  • Is this the model that suffers from the red ring problem?

    • A I said above. If its not the last of the fat xbox 360 consoles (Jasper) then it most likely will have problems. Mainly RROD or failing GPU. Not sure what video cable comes bundled. Older composite SD video/audio, composite/component SD/HD video/audio cable or HDMI.

The console pictured on the EB site is the Xbox 360 Pro with the silver tray and 60gb hard drive. It was released on August 1, 2008 and discontinued August 28, 2009. So should have HDMI unless its the older model.

      • Thanks, I ordered the ps3 slim bundle instead just to be safe. Already got one but want a smaller model to take on holidays

    • They're not selling units that were made 5 years ago.

I have the stodgy old 4gig arcade and I have absolutely flogged it; chucked it onto the back seat if I was taking it anywhere, had it in airline baggage that got knocked around, never once cleaned or vacuumed it etc, and it's never. missed. a beat. I friggin' love it.

Now if Microsoft hadn't been so utterly stupid, so unbelievably and distressingly greedy when planning their XB1 strategy, I would have had one of them by now to replace the 360. The 360 will be replaced by a 4 instead.

  • Also, I leave Australia January 2, what's the chances of receiving it before then?

    • +1

Phone them. So long as they ship before xmas, you will be fine.

  • Any Kinect?

  • can be picked up??

  • if it's the older gen, please tread carefully due to RROD issues.

for the xbox 360, I trust most on the smaller black ones.

  • This console is better than that.
But which is this and which is that?
