Funny how anything that says "eco" is really bad. Halogens are the most inefficient lamps allowed now.

  True, but it says eco halogen, not just eco. So if your application requires a halogen bulb, then compared to other halogens, this could be relatively efficient.

These are the kind of bulbs that go in my SMEG rangehood. As with all halogens, use a cloth or gloves when handling and installing them, as the oil dirt heats up so much that the bulbs explode.

Not available at all coles. Checked at a few coles in Vic and it is normal price.
