I'm coming in a bit late, but BUYER BEWARE with the M7.
There has been a bug delivered to us in the last week rendering the phone unusable as a phone.
When you make/receive phone calls the other person can't hear you and you can't hear them.
You can fix this by disabling Google Services Framework, however this causes the Gmail, Youtube and Play Store to not work, and while the Google Maps app works, it can't give directions without the framework enabled.

So, me and a lot of other M7 users are very impatiently waiting for a fix for the phone to be released from HTC. At first it seemed it was only Telstra release M7s but there are reports of other carrier's M7s affected too.

    • I have the same issue with my Telstra M7.

    • Yep. Had that issue with my HTC few days ago but resolved by resetting phone. Not ideal but worked.

Seems to be only Telstra branded HTCs?

    • Here I was thinking I'd buggered my phone after a drunken day at the cricket!

    • This dumb problem made me think my telstra HTC m7 was dead at first which was annoying. After searching internet, I could get my phone working by disable google framework service. Still wait for the permanent solution from HTC Australia. On their facebook, they describe this issue as a small problem that few customers will have. Very disappointed with their reactions for this BIG problem. Think will not buy any HTC products in future.

      • I was going to message you but you've got PMs disabled.

I don't know if you've had any luck with your phone, but I just got off the phone with HTC and have managed to fix mine. Here's the steps taken:
        1. Re-enable Google Services Framework (if previously disabled)

        1. Uninstall updates for the following apps:

        - Google Play services
        - Google Play Store
        - HTC Lock Screen
        - Gmail*
        - Maps*

        1. Power down phone.

        2. Remove SIM card and leave phone off for 1 minute.**

        3. Power up phone and re-insert SIM card.

*The only reason Gmail and Maps need to have their updates removed is because the new version won't work without the new version of Google Play Services. For some reason Google Calendar still works without uninstalling updates.
**I'm not sure how important the removing SIM card step was, but he said to do it and I'm a sheep.

        Tested and working:
        Phone calls
        Play Store
        Gmail
        Maps (including GPS and directions)
Timely – The current version asks you to update Google Play Services, tap update (takes you to Play Store), then tap back and you're returned to Timely and it works.

        • First I disabled the google services framework to get the phone back to work, but the error popup really annoyed me.

After seeing your post, I tried to re-enable google framework service and uninstall google play services and my phone now can make and receive calls except all google related services stop working.

That is a temporary solution but THE HTC M7 USERS DO NEED A PERMANENT FIX.

        • @tianyujojo: I'm sure HTC Will fix it, sort of a test for them I guess

        • @tianyujojo:
You need to uninstall updates on any app that gives you those messages.
So I also uninstalled updates on:
          Play Store
          Gmail
          Maps
          Timely

After a few hours I also noticed Google Calendar was causing pop-ups, so I've restored an old version of that too.
I don't know what other apps stop working but I would guess it's things like:
          Hangouts
          Google+
          Google Play Books
          Google Play Movies
          Google Play Music
          Google Play Newsstand

Those are all apps I've disabled as I don't use them.

  • Thanks OP!

Why no special for the g2 :(*

    • Dunno you would think that would be the one to be reduced

  • Great price for the HTC One! If I wasn't already heavily invested in Apple products I'd buy one to replace my iPhone 4

    • +4

think of it as a great time to break the cycle :)

  • Grrr, missed the G3 sale. Couldn't find and Click&Collect in VIC…. but thanks OP for the information

    • +1

I have ordered one "LG G3 " and I have regraded if you are in Brisbane and you want it I will give it to you
      send me private message

      • Thanks mate, I've price matched and got one in JB HiFi.

        • How?? This one is Vodafone Locked. JB HiFi only sell Telstra Locked or Outright

        • @ccwwayne: It's just unlocked by default . Tried both Telstra and Vodafone SIM, both worked well in my phone. I don't know why they pretend they are locked.

        • @ccwwayne: Did you mean why they do price match? I think because the deal was both for an outright price so they should be able to compete. By the time I showed them the Dick Smith webpage, then JB HiFi salesperson marked down the price to $429.

        • +1

@Hazyman: Too bad the links for G3/M7 have been killed now :(

        • @Hazyman: I think the LG G3 in this deal is Vodafone Locked

        • +1

@ccwwayne: Nah none of them are locked

        • @TRENT86: Yeah I see, by 4pm the link still worked. Thank you so much, this is a perfect Christmas gift for myself. Merry Christmas :)

        • @Hazyman: Glad you got one :)

  • DSE have listed the M7 now @ $299 on their ebay store, hopefully for some it is still there tomorrow

    • +1

I wouldn't take the risk saving $300 just to save and extra $30

      • Yeah when you choose the free pick up option on ebay there are plenty of stores with stock, but when checking the same stores on the DS website they are all showing out of stock.

        • +1

Doesn't matter anyway now with code off Ebay won't be cheaper

        • What code did you use? REDNOSE40 isn't working. What $1 product did you add

        • @sylon: Buy something like a cheap phone cover

  • YEP agree using the code on the m7 would be the deal breaker for many

  • Htc m7 sold out.

    • -3

NAH Still plenty store with it, type in your post code for click & collect

      • +1

VIC is all gone from what I see.

  • +1

Hi Trent am trying to apply CODE REDNOSE60 on Htc m8 coming invalid, but I do have my cart $501.

    • it's REDNOSE40 For the HTC ONE M7 After adding a $1 item :)

  • +1

    How about rednose60?

    • +1

You need to spend over $500 to use that code

      • +1

Yes i do have over $500 coming coupon code invalid, looks like m8 excluded.

        • Yes it is cause it's pre paid

        • +1

Even m7 is prepaid and code is working . For m8 it's bit weird.

        • +1

@viki8702: M7 is not pre paid, it's unlocked and in the unlocked section of the website, the m8 is pre paid and locked to Vodafone

        • Thanks for clarification :)

        • @TRENT86: The M8 is not locked. It's just been added to the wrong section. The only 'Vodafone' thing about it, is that new firmware will be approved by VF before rollout.

        • @LlamaLlamaLamp: If you look in specs it says Network-Vodafone, the others Say Network-Unlocked. This is the unlocked m8 one http://www.dicksmith.com.au/unlocked-mobile-phones/htc-m8-un…

        • +1

@TRENT86: It'd be incorrect info, VF haven't locked their phones since last year.

        • +2

@LlamaLlamaLamp: Ok cool I will say it's unlocked and credit you. Cheers man :)

  • +2

id bite if rednose60 worked with the m8!

  • Chermside is out of stock for the m7

    • Nooooo

  • Anyone's owned both the Nexus 4 and M7 and cares to comment please? Have a N4 and reviews give me the impression the M7 is just a sidegrade?

  • Pakenham out of stock!
    Booooooooo I just missed out

    • even when it was in stock (an hour ago) i couldn't buy now. It didn't allow checkout for some reason

      • You need to click update order data in the final screen, that activates the place order button.

  • Dang bought 2 m7's last night. Anyone know if I can cancel that order so can buy again at the better price?

  • +1

Just to let everyone know the LG G3 is back in stock

    • Yep, i just placed an order for one to be posted. Not sure about any click and collect stock. Going OS next month too so I'll get the gst back. Lg g3 for $360!!

  • Got the M7 for $270 after adding a cable and delivery $6 - well worth it

    • Hi Sk280
Is it possible to get the screenshot of the order .
      I forgot to apply rednose40 .
So i can ask DSE to manually refund me 40$ Showing REDNOSeWas valid for HTCM7 .

      Thanks if you can .

  • LG G3 out of stock again

    • LOL That was quick

      • +1

Yeh I had one in my cart, got to the PayPal screen to pay then I thought I would make sure that some other codes weren't stackable on this page. Went back then it said it was out of stock. Grrr. Maybe sirob1 took mine out of my cart. Lol

        • Bugger, there are still like 5 stores with it, Perth CBD still has it, just a matter of sifting through all the stores and then calling to confirm :)

        • @TRENT86: I'm in Sydney and I don't think Sydney has any :-/ You snooze you lose

  • +1

HTC One M7 Smartphone is back in Stock!
Grabbed two with REDNOSE60 for 543.95 delivered.

    • 2 x $300 will give you $80 discount = $532 delivered?

      • I panicked :P was afraid it would go out of stock again.
You are correct, it would be 265.95 each if i separated the purchases with REDNOSE40

        • lol. Still a pretty good bargain.

  • @SK280

HOW MUCH FOR CABLE AND WHAT CODE USED?

  • Picked up the m7 $266 delivered, cheers OP.

  • I became my own Secret Santa and bought M7+2 Energiser AAA = $268.43 delivered

    Thanks OP

  • m7 + SOMETHING USELESS $266.95 delivered

Can someone tell me what's it??

    • Some older video & dvd players, laptops etc had a S-VHS output - basically a combo of sound + video. It looks like this will let you convert that to a RCA video output that you can plug into most TVs (you'll have to run the sound separately) So, unless you have an old VHS, DVD, laptop lying around, it IS useless :)

  • How would the rear camera compare on the M7 to an iPhone 5C? I am looking to swap to Android again but want good picture quality as well.

    • Camera is your major concern then M7 in't for you.

  • The code not work for me :( it s $307 in the cart.

    • +1

Make sure you are not signed in

      • The code doesn't work for me either. Yes, I didn't sign in.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered 2 M7 for Xmas Presents :D

    • +1

Yeah great timing for xmas :)

  • M7 is not on DS site anymore, all gone?

  • M7 related question, Do I pay the same $250 and fix my wife's Galaxy S4 screen or just get this?

    Thanks.

    • +1

S4 and M7 are direct competitors, each with it's own good & bad points. Overall the S4 is slightly better (IMO) but I would pick a brand new phone.

AM WORRIED - The M7 page is gone, ozbargained. The audio cable I purchased with the M7 has been marked as shipped. Ive received the invoice and it does NOT include the M7. The shipping charge has been applied in full. I fear they might have oversold the M7 (as always) and I'll be stuck with an overpriced cable for $11 :(((( Be worried, really worried especially when you cannot reach their hopeless call centre.

EDIT: Looks like the page is back on, but I still think they are oversold. Not a single store in Sydney seems to have stock. Unless they have a warehouse full of M7, I doubt they'll honour this deal.

  • Hi This link is not working for HTC M7.

    • Looks like it's sold out

  • Looks like back again, just checked

  • I just bought. Panicked when it was pulled from the website, but seems to be back on. I bought the useless $2 item to push me over $300. $267 all up, which is pretty good.

    Thanks for the post.

  • Am I too late, trying to checkout and it says "The requested quantity for "Vodafone HTC One M7 Smartphone" is not available for both home delivery and click and collect."

    • Try mobile site. Looks fine but I have not gone through payment page yet.

      • @wtfnodeal: What is the site please?

        • the dick smith site?…

        • @zelda707: Yes, for DSE site postcode, so that I can select that for click and collect.

  • yup its back again and I bought one for $267 delivered..good deal

    • What code did you use? and what item did you add, REDNOSE40 doesnt seem to work for me?

  • HTC One m7 link updated now :)

    • says out of stock since 10 mins?

      • It's only available for click and collect now and for select stores, you need to check the postcodes around your local
