Hoover Heritage 5210 Stick Vacuum Cleaner @ Godfreys for $89 (+ $7 Delivery)

60

Got this in-store for $179 a few weeks ago. According to a post on Whirlpool it was on sale for $99 two years ago.

I bought this with my 28D CC, lodged a price protection claim (fingers crossed!). And to think the sales person was really insistent (read: pushy) on me buying a higher model!

They quoted $19.95 for a replacement HEPA filter (but you don't need to replace it every time obviously).

We had one of these, it's got nothing on our our Dyson but thats really comparing apples and oranges. This is a great vac for cleaning up small spots of mess or individual rooms, helpful with toddlers for instance.

We have one of these after Godfrey's replaced our Electrolux Ergomatic with this one. Very poor quality. The hovers head (plastic) just started falling apart in three months. Godfreys would not fix or replace it as they reckon the warranty was on the Electrolux and expired with it. Godfrey said no warranty on the hoover which was only 3 months old. I would never buy a thing from Godfrey's.

I purchased a "New" Hoover unit from Godfrey's Campbellfield for around $300 and when I opened the box for the first time the unit was full of dust and had clearly been used. Same, they refused to replace the unit. The Powerhead failed in 3 months and the unit was in the trash after 6 months.

I cringe every time I see their almost "weekly" ad for a car park sale and that bloke that looks like a shonky used car salesman.

      Absolute knuckleheads to deal with.

Went and spent the $$ on a Dyson and never looked back.

Sounds like they need a crash course on the Australian Consumer Law.

I just want a basic stick vacuum for quick clean ups.

They would not bat an eyelid. Their attitude towards customers is fairly much….don't like it, then sue me!

        • @Dean04: In my experience, they tend to fold very quickly when you do exactly that.

        • @Dean04: true mate! The guy at Godfreys Glendale sounded said good luck with my complaint to Department of Fair trading.

  • I have one of these (bought 2 years ago for $99).

    Pros:
They do the job on hard surfaces. Perfect for myself, as I mostly use it on floorboards.

    Cons:
It is terrible on carpet and hardly picks anything up.

    Overall:
Good for small jobs/rooms/etc. Full charge lasts about 20 minutes. I'd say it's worth the money, if you don't want to spend a lot on the Dyson ones. That being said, if mine ever carks it, I'll probably spend the extra cash to get a Dyson.
