Looks like Amazon have started to sell the Samsung Evo Drives with free far cry 4.. You'll only get the game once your order has shipped and you'll have to wait an additional 5-7 days after that.. (so no sneaky ordering it then cancelling it ASAP)..

Pay with Amex and its free shipping

    • Does Amex charge conversion and overseas transactions fees? and if so does it work out cheaper then using a 28degrees card and paying for shipping? (Shipping is about ~$8USD)

      • +14

Buy $108 gift card, apply to your account, then pay remaining $1 with amex to get free shipping. I know because I used this method on my order Friday.

        • +2

I didn't really care all that much that I didn't have an Amex card, as I figured it's not going to save much in the end, but that almost makes me want to get an Amex card. Genius!

Not the cheapest way to get an Evo 250gb but the inclusion of a copy of Far Cry 4 could be enough to sway your decision over local retailers..

That said, there's a good possibility that local retailers will soon be getting the same offer..

"That said, there's a good possibility that local retailers will soon be getting the same offer."

Any guess if it would be before or after xmas?

Here is the official Samsung page for the (US) offer.
    http://www.samsung.com/us/promotions/far-cry-4/

  • is there anyway to sell the far cry promo code? i want the 1tb evo and willing to seperate code to make up for conversion costs

    • I suggest eBay

    • G2a.com, I have been selling it with no problems. But keep in mind there are quite a lot of fees, like 0.15 losing fee for a week, and I think about 10% fee from the selling price, and withdrawing fee which is about a dollar+,(would be better if you sold a lot more since the withdrawal fee would be almost the same). And you can only withdraw after 30 days of selling I think.

  • SE usually has this for $129 with shipping.

With FC4 (fun game) it's worth. Too bad I bought one from SE 2 weeks ago and don't need anymore.

    Thanks anyway OP.

  • So they're selling them out to make way for the 850's?

  • the 500 GB sold out as I was checking out :(

  • +1

i decided to buy the 1tb from SE today ($449 with free shipping)

with the US -> AUD conversion its about $10 more and i get it in a couple days with australian warranty.

    beats doign it this way

    • I'm interested in the 1TB, what is SE?

      • Shopping Express :)

      • It was yesterday's deal… i dont know if its still on but give it a go

    • how likely would this need warranty though…

      ssd are quite reliable

      • i would not expect a ssd to last more than 2 years (if you're lucky), if you use it daily and depending on what you do with it.

I'd rather a 3 year (or is it 5… cant remember) on the EVO where i dont have to RMA to the states and back….

        • where u get your info about how long they last?

  • So does anyone know how/when we will get the Far Cry 4 promo code to redeem?

    • Well I have my SSD but there's no sign of any promo code.

      • And so I got the promo code from Amazon support after enquiring about it and of course it doesn't work on the Ubi shop.

At first I just got "Server error", and now I get nothing.

Of course the Ubi store website also keeps redirecting to the AU website just to be extra annoying. I guess this must be region locked even though it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the Amazon page.

        • Same problem here! I bought the 500gb and supposed to get FC4.
now that I have the SSD no mention of the code. I contacted them and they said it was a U.S only thing although I actually went on chat and asked TWO of their reps if I'm eligible and they confirmed YES!

Now their "supervisor" is offering the only option of "return the item for a refund" BS!

I don't think I can lodge a complaint with Fair Trading as it's an American website!

          What are you gonna do?

        • @sirs2k:

okay, I don't know if you guys know but you can go to https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/express/c2c/popup.ht…

and request a call back from them. I managed to speak to a supervisor there and got US$65 refunded for this matter after negotiating :) Originally she offered 10-15%! which was like $30

So follow it up and get something back for their misleading advertising!

@sirs2k: For those that have the code, have you tried using a VPN to connect to a US IP and then submitting the code.. Yes, it's pain but once entered, I really can't see ubisoft enforcing regional restrictions once its in your library..

          Use something free like FlyVPN..

        • @Vladdo:

thats all you have to do , safervpn is a good one that gives you a 24 hour trial period

  • Vladdo is right.

I contacted Amazon and they sent a code to redeem Far Cry 4, customer service was excellent. Received the code within 4 hours or so.
I switched on Hola and went to the Ubistore site and entered the code, worked perfectly.
    Downloaded and installed & working.

    • +1

Yeah.. I'd guess that the codes are valid only in the regional store that they came from. Once it's added to your account, it doesn't matter and you can play as normal.

I do the same for cheap russian copies of ubisoft games :)

      • I've never used ubistore and don't particularly want far cry. What's the best way to sell this? I don't particularly want to give people the whole VPN hassle, is there a way to sell the game from ubistore or other?

        • message me with a price :)

  • wouldn't mind selling my code if anyone's intersted

    • bill please message me with a price
