No, it's not a VoIP modem as such. But if you purchase something like a Gigaset IP phone to use with it, you can access VoIP services.

They key reason is that you can redeem a ac1200 usb dingle with the d7 and it gives you ac1200 on any device. Plan to use it on my htpc.
True - I have a D7 as well. However, some people may be after the better wireless capability that this offers.
Just bought the D7 model. The difference to the ISP supplied modem is that it sent my download speed from around 200kb/s to around 400kb/s. That makes me very happy. As well, it is NBN ready. A breeze to setup.
