40" Sony Bravia KDL40V5500 for $1496 at VideoPro, saw this deal and bought one for myself it is a full HD TV and the next best price I could find on it was at JB HI FI for $1791. If you buy it online it is also $60 postage but you can pick it up from the brisbane store.

50 hz is very poor quality now
It's more than good enough for normal TV viewing. 100Hz with fast scene gets even worse effects as the fake frame looks really fake.
Caution - The way I read the specs is that the integrated TV tuner is Standard Defenition only, not HD. So the unit MAY be capable of displaying HD resolution, but the tuner will not pick up the HD channels (you'll need a HD set top box).

Hmmm - the specs on the site you provided the link for do NOT say HD TV Tuner, just Digital DVB-T, which I'm pretty sure is Standard Def only. They would say HD if it (the tuner) was. Sure the monitor is capable of HD, but I'm sure the in-built TV Tuner is only SD and will not pick up the HD channels. The seller's specs say and I quote "Watch digital TV with the integrated standard definition digital terrestrial tuner (MPEG-2, also receives analogue)". That looks pretty definate to me. Hope I'm wrong though for those who want to buy this unit. Cheers.
Thank you for your interest in Videopro. I can confirm that the KDL40V5500 does have an in-built High Definition Tuner. The only major internal difference between the V5500 and W5500 series is the addition of the 100Hz Motion Flow technology. I hope that this helps you. - Videopro Staff
In case anyone was wondering this model TV is 50hz, not the usual 100hz that most TV's are now. $250 for 5yr warranty is pretty decent too.
