8inch Android Tablet

Hi I'm looking for a small 8inch Android Tablet.

I was looking at the FNF iFive mini, but if there is a better one for say >$250 I'm willing to consider it.

It must have high resolution, i.e. Retina screen like a current iPad mini.

With the FNF iFive mini, they come in MTK6592 Octa Core vs RK3288 Quad Core which are similar prices, which is better?

a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (8.4) would be nice, but it's for my 2.5yo who will just use it for some basic apps and YouTubing.

So can anyone please recommend me something.

    It's equipped with Nvidia K1 processor, very beefy contender to the the iPad Mini.
    Costs about 1499 RenMinBi which is roughly $287 AuD]
    you can probably source it from AlieX or Taobao or similar overseas shop.

    Or something cheaper like this Chuvi with Intel Atom MTK8127 quad core with 1280 x 800 display. It's apparently only $100. The Intel Quad core version, is a little more expensive at $165.

      Quick question Scrimshaw if you don't mind.
      If someone was used to using a original google nexus 7 - how do you think they would react to one of these?

        which tab: the mipad or Chuvi?

        Both tablets are an inch bigger than the Nexus. The MiPad in terms of specs is better than the Nexus (CPU/GPU performance, display res), the MediaTek Chuvi is slower since it runs a budget SoC and is equipped with 1GB of RAM.

        I can't tell you how good the tablet is, I don't own any of the tablets mentioned. Go to Youtube and watch some reviews.

    Actually for that price of the MiPad, I'm going to seriously start looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (no need for 3G).

    $359 less TRS is $326 with a local warranty. Compelling value.

    I would much rather a Sony Z3 Tablet Compact, but there are no decent sale on it.

    Ended up buying the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 for $292 with the ebay 20% sale.
