Free 8000 Spirit Airlines Miles for Declaring Your Hatred of Them or Another Airline

150

Your hatred of Spirit Airlines (or another airline) can get you 8,000 Spirit Airlines Miles for free!
Send a hate message of 140 characters or less to Spirit Airlines about them or another airline and Spirit Airlines will give you 8,000 Spirit Airlines miles.

It's not quite enough to get a free flight as their award seats start from 10,000 miles unless you have their credit card. You could buy an extra 2000 miles to make up the difference but this costs around $60 AUD so it's not really worth it.

What I expect most people would use it for is redeeming free (digital) magazine subscriptions.

Terms and Conditions state that it is open to US Citizens and Alien Residents. If you are not yet a US resident you are welcome to start living at my place in "Beverley Hills 90210". It's handy for other deals such as Amazon.com, etc.

who are spirit airlines and why do they want people to hate them?

    • They probably don't even read the messages, they just want people to talk about them. It's working!

Spirit is an American ULCC. Obviously the added 'U' in ULLC stands for Ultra Low Cost Carrier.

They are the laughing stock of the industry service wise, they don't give you free cabin or checked baggage, just whats in your pockets, and the planes are the most cramped in the (non charter) aviation industry.

Why do they want people to hate them? Because thats their advertising spiel, people say nothing but bad things about them, but they make record profits because people still choose them. When a fare is half the price of the legacy carriers, people put past experiences aside.

This should be the angle of all budget carriers/retailers. "We know you're pissed off at us, but we know you'll be back."
        Ahem, Tiger.

So they are an "Ultra Low Cost Carrier" Low Low Carrier??

  • Seems legit bro. I bitched about United breaking guitars for my 8000 points. Lets see how that pans out! :-)

  • Its like abusing staff at a restaraunt and then waiting for then to all spit in your meal or god knows what, and they know exactly where you're sitting.

Jack turns and we pan to Tyler, standing by a cart with a giant soup tureen.
His hands are at his open fly and he's in position to p*** into the soup."

Jack: "He was the guerrilla terrorist of the food service industry."

Tyler: "Don't watch. I can't if you watch."

Be sure to unsubscribe from their email spam after creating a Spirit account.

  • They are setting a low expectation for you, so it is less likely you will complain should you receive bad service

  • Can we even get the mags delivered here in au? Assuming they are hard copies?

    • You can choose between physical or digital copies for most of them. The physical copies can only be delivered in the US.

  • None of the magazines I read :(

Got my miles notification - how do you select digital copies and how do you receive them?

The Economist seems to be the only "pure" digital option - have ordered that - lets see what happens!

I signed up for this at the time because they were offering US Vogue. Now that I have my miles, it's been removed :(

    • I guess that's just another reason why they are the most hated airline. :)
