  • Aldi has a 2.2kw pressure cleaner for $129.

As for Palm Trees, they don't know when to stop growing and will make a terrible mess once full size.

    • Aldi Specs:
      110 Bar = approx 1560psi
      3 year warranty
      2.2kw

      Masters Specs:
      1960psi (higher pressure)
      5 year warranty
      1.8kw (more power efficient)
includes: 3 in 1 multi function head, Patio head cleaner & wall mounting brackets

As for Palm Trees, some people like them ;-)

      • yes but can you confirm that the Masters' pressure rating is under load or max.

        • The PSI is max.
BTW the Aldi link no longer works, is the Aldi one under load or max?

          @HunterOfBargains20:
The Aldi washer was 110 Bar of working pressure.
Max pressure was 150 Bar from memory which slightly beats the Masters' washer.

Although with a 5 year warranty, which is a huge plus, the Master' washer should pay off in the end - take a photo of the receipt.

Trade Grade Hitachi Drill Set $59 (While Stocks Last)
includes carry case, 2 batteries, 10pce drill bits, charger

    Note: uses NiCd batteries.

    • I am not sure I would call a 12v Nicad cordless trade grade!
      Maybe 15 years ago!
      LOL

Obviously Lithium are better for non regular use but I can remember a tradie I worked with getting years out of his makita ni-cds, all batteries definitely not created equal

Obviously Lithium are better for non regular use

Not necessarily. While they do not hold a charge so long, the NiCd might still be working well in 10 years. No chance of Li-Ion lasting that long.

        • @manic: yeah I was speaking more from the perspective that the drill will be useful because it holds charge, rather than the lifetime of battery. If the NiCd spends most of its time dead because people only use their drill 8s per year then its a goner, but yes point taken. Batteries definitely need care though regardless

        • HOB, how does a bunch of links to product pages mean that ppl disagree with me?
Also the Amazon link is not the same kit, plus the majority of reviews are from 2005!

Thx for posting anyway but definately no deal.

        • @adamwf: the links are to show that it is referred to as Trade or Professional grade and that at $59 it is almost half what other retailers are selling it for

      • When i was sparkying my favourite cordless drill was a 9.6V Makita with nicads. The batteries were continually being charged and run flat, and worked great. Smaller drills are much nicer to use if they do the job, and you are using them all day.

Now that i am not sparkying, i find my 14.4 volt Makita with nicads a real pain in the bum, as i don't use it very often and the batteries are usually flat when i want to, and i prefer a lighter drill.

I have done a lot of power tool repairs and Hitachi cordless drills are my second fav to work on after makita.

  • My 12v Makita NiCad drill driver is awesome. Still going strong after 6 yrs. Hitachi generally make good drills also. Go for it!

  • My Ryobi Drill kit with 2 batteries (NiCad) still works ok…well one battery has gone bad.

Can anyone give me a tip for a replacement- as when i looked online it seems to be around $80 for one battery :(

A tip would be to buy the Hitachi drill at $59 with 2 x batts.Haha.

I had to buy Ni-cad replacement in the past and it was up around $100. So a drill and 2 batts for $59 makes sense. Makes me wonder how they can sell for $59 when a single battery costs over $100 from some of the main guys.

      • Thanks Nichb :)

A tip is to blast the battery pack with high current DC reverse polarity like from a car battery or welder. This vaporises the crystals that form short circuits within the nicad, restoring lost capacity and retention. YouTube it. It works.

      • Sounds Interesting stumo. thanks again.

  • i gather the drill is sold out? I can't find it on the website (NSW)

    • No they aren't sold out yet.
You can't find it on the website because it's an instore only deal

  • They still had some of the $59 drills on sale in the hawthorn East store (vic). I wouldn't stress tho as I ended up returning mine cause it was gutless.
