This isn't the cheapest razor but it's not available in Australia yet and a good Christmas present for gear junkies. In comparison it's a wet/dry version of Brauhns 790cc and it is reviewing better. The cheapest on Camelx3 is $260USD but with this coupon code it brings it down to $210USD. (You need to clip a coupon on Amazon to get $100 off). This is the Arc 5 and the Arc 4 is priced well over $300 in Australia. This is $350USD at Walmart and staring at $330USD on eBay. ONce you take off taxes we actually get it shipped cheaper than people could get it in the US.
Anyone who uses the Brauhn cleaning station knows it's about $10 a cartridge if you're not refilling them yourself. The cleaner on the Panasonic is non-alcoholic so can be shipped overseas. Buying the cartrdges from Amazon is $6 shipping for one box (includes 3 cartridges) and then scale it to 5 boxes and it's only $7 shipping. For example you can get 5 boxes (15 cartridges) for under $80AUD shipped.
Yes you're paying a premium for a new product but this is a quality Japanese electric razor and the ongoing costs with the cleaning station are the most reasonable of any of the brands. Will ship with in a fortnight so in time for Christmas for that someone special…or maybe someone else.
The only thing I may say is it is possible the unit price may drop whilst the coupon is active over the Black Friday sales, but in general practice Amazon refunds the difference if you ask. Particularly if the item is still shipping as you could just return it and repurchase.
I have owned this razor for just over 8 months now and highly recommend it! Got razer burn the first few days but smooth sailing after that.
I stopped using the cleaning station and just clean it with a squirt of liquid soap and running water. Simple as!
