I can not be sure for the quality but similar BPA free I purchased from Woolies for $8 dollars (at special $6).
23 dollar for a bottle sounds not cheap for me.

I've never seen an insulated one at Woolies…

  • Can't comment on price but I've used these camelbak bottles (this one and similar ones) for a couple of years now.

Love them, drink about 5 litres of water out of them everyday.

    • Do you clamp or bite on the rubber and then suck? Of course im talking about the drinking of the water

      How does that mechanism work

      • +1

just a slight bite. I personally think the valve actually gets better with age because the opening becomes larger and after a while (and a lot of chewing) you don't even need to bite (though if you aren't happy with that and it's leaking you can just contact camelbak and they send you out a new lid)

  • I find good plastic bottles from reputable brands like camelbak I can still taste the plastic in the water.
I now use glass bottles and I find no such problem anymore.

    • Any suggestions on a glass bottle to purchase/use?

I can't tell you where to buy here, I got mine from china, a friend went there for holidays and got me 2 in different sizes.

But I can tell you it looks like this:
        http://ebikeshoes.com/store/mnxo-ultra-clear-borosilicate-gl…

Comes with an insulated cover and so it won't break easily. But don't expect to get a big bottle because it would be too heavy.

        Happy with mine.

      • I saw a glass one at woolies last week. Was about $20 if I remember correctly. Had a rubberised outer to protect it a bit. Looked alright.

I just bought a couple of those fancy glass bottled waters from Dan Murphys. Been refilling the bottles for months. Cost about $4 each. https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_382410/voss-sparkli…

I'd go through a bottle a day at the rate I drop them :D

    • Insulated glass bottles?
I use the Hydroflask metal insulated bottles. Highly recommend them. No unwanted taste.

  • Bottle is crap. I have it in my backpack side pockets and find when walking the water moves, creates air and because it can't escape it goes up the straw and starts leaking. It says guaranteed leak proof. This is false.

    It leaks, a lot…

    • I found my CamelBak doesn't leak.
I have had two Contigo autoseal leakproof bottles, when they leak, they would drown my bag. Could not work out where, on the lid, that the leak was coming from.
Contigo lifetime guarantee that is splashed all over the label only applies to USA and Canada, Camelbak lifetime guarantee has a warranty in Australia (on their website at least).
