it seems a great price for the amount of work but only 1 is available. limited quantity means no deal.
good luck with your business though.

We'll keep the offer open to the end of the week and I've removed the quantity limit.

6 hours filming and then 6 hours editing for a 30-60 second video? Really?

    Even $40p/h @ 12 hrs =$480 (not $500 as mentioned)

    • +3

It might be more than $40/h.

      • The op edited his comment and made me look like a dumbass about the $40p/h

Still, his description says up to 6 hours filming, up to 6 hours editing. Those costs don't include audio files, any fx and other misc equipment setup/computer use (storage, delivery, overheads).

Thanks for the comment. It's normal in movies to shoot around three minutes of footage a day, TV can be up to ten (but using two or three cameras), commercials can take a few days for a 30 second ad, and they all use 30-40 crew to get it right. The reality for us is we don't just record 30 seconds of footage, there's set up time, shooting lots of different angles, changing lights and so on. An then in editing there's probably going to be more that 6 hours work goes into it and we will spend the time to get it right so six hours is a minimum and we don't just stop work after six hours. You can be sure it's a good offer.

You obviously don't work in the industry. Depending on the quality this is less than the going rate. I have a friend who spent a year in Antarctica filming for BBC and they used 20 minutes of it.

EDIT: Also worked with freelancers in Sydney who charge $600-800 an 8 hour day just to edit, not even shoot.

Videographer in Melbourne here, I can confirm this amount of time is accurate. It could easily take longer than this and every shoot is different. Best of luck with your start up!

That's a lot of work for almost no money…
