Features:
Self-winding automatic

Fantastic lumination on indices
Water resistant to 200M

Also available in other colours: black or orange (with SS bracelet - slightly more expensive)

  • Very tempted. Had this in my cart for a while. Would look nice on a nato strap. Torn between this and a Seiko Skx007. I dislike the second button at 2 o'clock however, ridiculously it changes the day, not the date. I think the Orient Mako has a better WR rating, excellent quality diver though.

    • Probably I can help you to decide if I put it side by side ;)
Can't go wrong with any of them. Personally I think skx007 looks more badass while mako looks more formal. I bought a seiko monster and mako for parents bday and wear mako xl for daily. They love it and so am I. Almost 5 years now with the xl and still going strong. These mako, mako xl and ray have same movement and wr rating only differences are really on appearance.

I'm tempted by this…but I have an SKX007, Monster and invicta as it is..not to mention other divers!

    Very good buy!

    • Flip the Invicta. Easy!

      • I don't wear any of them though…only wear my steinhart and a mudman at the moment. I'd be buying another none wearer

Bought this Orient Blue Mako with the rubber strap 3 years ago at almost the same price as OP posted excl delivery. Still running strong. Accuracy is top notch for this price point.

    • This isn't a Mako (not 100% sure) but they do make a Mako with the same strap.

This is the Mako I'd like:

But it doesn't say if its mineral or sapphire glass, I'd pay the extra for sapphire to know its not going to scratch as easy.

Mineral 100%. No sapphire at this price point. I wouldn't worry about scratches, after-all it's just an every-day beatem'up watch. Not really a posing watch.

        • I was just looking up sapphire crystal glass for the one I like but it seems they are only avalible by a 3rd party. I guess if it got scratched it could always be replaced later if needed.

        • @ezarc: They are surprisingly tough, it all depends on your lifetyle/job/care. If you worried about parts then get a Seiko SKX007 - direct competitor. They have a cult following and easily customised.

      • What's skywatchers like to buy from? My wife wants a white baby g and most places don't have or ship here. Retail here is $200 , skywatchers is $112

I've bought from them once without any problems, a friend has bought from them twice and recommended them to me.

They also have a international warranty for nearly all of their watches, if its not listed in the product description then ask them about it before buying to make sure.

        • +1

I've used Sky Watches, Creation Watches, Time Paradise and Amazon. All are reputable.

        • @ilikeit:
thanks for the replies folks. looks like sky watches are the only ones that have baby g.
          might give them a go.

I want a Shogun but I don't want to pay for it :)

    • Pretty good looking watch!

  • Been wearing Seiko divers for years but have become a little tired of their poor accuracy without regulation. Just ordered a "Black Ray". Thanks OP.

  • Nice work Op. SOLD! Wish people would stop posting deals for great looking watches…. it costing me a fortune.

  • The Orient Ray (it's not a Mako, but it's very similar) is a great bargain, but note that you can also use the 20% off code for quite a few of the other watches on Amazon. Just used it to buy myself an Orient Bambino that I'd been eyeing off for some time.
