    when you are in a tour(regardless of locations), tipping for the driver and guide is common and a MUST.

    I know right. I hate how it's difficult to discourage people advertising on this site. only thing we can do is report, which takes a while but the culprit already gets the exposure they want.

  So, it's a minimum 'buy in' of $3800 for two people (twin share) for the "standard" package, for just 8 nights!

  This is just madness……crazy stuff! Anyone who has travelled Vietnam knows this an offer to snare the inexperienced traveller.

  And what's with this phrase "full value price of this tour is $3790"? Can you break this down to all it's components please…..which hotels, which halong bay tour company etc etc….

  Meh.. I've spent $3500 on my 21 day trip to Vietnam, staying in mostly 4 and 5 star hotels for 2 people OVER CHRISTMAS.

  Not much of a deal IMO. More spam.

      Organised everything myself. Going to all the same places listed plus Dalat, Nga Trang and Hue.

  We spent 3 months in Vietnam last year, stayed in 2 bedroom apartments in Saigon, 2 bedroom apartment in Nha Trang and a corner suite with separate lounge in Da Nang,all very good quality, probably 4* Aus standard but thats more like 2* Vietnam.
  Had a scooter every day while there,ate and drank very well , yes we avoided tourist trap restaurants like the plague but did get several meals in at high end resorts (free flow Tattinger and seafood buffets) and could not spend $5k, couldnt do it.
