  • Are these worth getting? Thoughts?

    • I recall the new ps vita using crappier panel than the original one or something. I own a PS Vita, I recommend getting Persona 4 and Final Fantasy X remastered, or get Minecraft. Other than that, it's pretty dead….

IDK I got a decent load of games on PSN, BlazBlue, Dragon's Crown, much more and much better then most PS3 games I have (fun arcade-like games). Doesn't seem too bad, I am either waiting for cheaper vita or the Playstation TV thing.
EDIT: Also the fact that you suggest P4 and FFX above anything else warns me that you don't like actual video games, rather extended film scenes with menus.

Lol, P4 is just a game with extended film scenes with menus? Yeah k

@fisa2001: Four hours to get to actual game(play) and only to realise how horribly boring it is. If that's your thing, fine, but don't start to claim a system is bad just because you like those types of 'games' and nothing else.

      • apparently lcd over an led

        • +1

LCD over OLED, to be accurate.

I'll second P4G. That game alone is worth getting a Vita for, even if you never buy anything else. I got a lot of great freebies from PS+.

Freedom Wars seems good, so it's not quite dead yet, but its future is bleak, no doubt.

I just hope my 1000 unit never dies. The OLED screen is so nice.

        • Nice enough to forgo a little extra battery, micro usb cable standard and all the other features?

I'm also concerned about the longevity of the Oled screens life. If you were buying one now would you still go 1000?
I want to get a vita soon so your thoughts would help.

        • @Scaregdearimasu: The cable is included with the Vita, so I just keep it with the Vita in its pouch. No big deal to plug it in. The little extra battery doesn't amount to much. Both won't give you more than a few hours. Plus if I'm at home, I always play with the charger plugged in.

The rest of the features, like 1GB storage don't matter. It's nice that the 2000 is a little bit thinner and lighter, but it also looks a lot cheaper in construction. Make no mistake, it's a cost cutting move for Sony.

The 1000 might be hard to find these days, so you probably don't have that much choice. I'm just saying I bought mine when it was the current model, and I hope it doesn't die on me, because if it does I'll have to buy an LCD model to replace it.

Depends on what type of gaming you like dude. If you're getting it expecting home console level gaming, you're going to get disappointed, it's just not powerful enough. I wasn't too sure if I was going to use it really, but I got onto PS+ and I love it. It's definitely got a niche as a JRPG machine but I much prefer the indie games and casual shooters that PS+ gives up every month. Also, you whip this badboy out on the train and the phone and tablet junkies be like damn, that's a cold arse honky.

Better off and wait for the 3000 model..

    • Lol, wasn't there an interlacing issue with the PSP-3000 though? They already added a yellow hue to the VITA 2000, who knows what'll be in the 3000. :P

      • No they didn't. The yellow hue was in the 1000 and they removed it in the 2000. The 2000 has the most accurate colour out of the 3. The 3000 added it back.

  • Ps threeta?

  • I have both the PS Vita PCH-1001 and the PS Vita PCH-2000.

I can tell you their displays are a world of difference. The original 1001 has a crisper image and wonderful colours. The 2000 has a dull overlit image, feels washed out in comparison. Kind of like comparing a decent IPS monitor with a TFT LCD monitor.

PS Vita is generally sought after for their Japanese games. If you don't like Japanese games I don't know what this thing could be useful for. An extremely bad movie player?

    • cheaper to go to the cinema than to buy Vita memory cards for movies :P

    • I'm considering a Vita just so I can play PS4 games when the TV is in use, but it seems like a really underhyped features, is that because it sucks?

      • No I've used it, it works the way you expect. No input lag or anything. Image looks worse on the PS Vita than on your big screen. Works better on some games than on other games. I was playing that PS+ horizontal scrolling space shooter and the bullets were too small on the Vita screen, I couldn't dodge them at all. (also image was too dark).
