I don't know about anyone else, but Banana prices are going up like crazy again…

Only certain food products are going up, but in general I think food inflation is still around 5-6% each year because the packaging shrinks and the price of fruit and nuts keeps going up. Add to this that meat prices definitely have gone up anywhere $1 a kilo every year on the good meats… So that's around 5% on the premium meats.

I don't know how much sugar and salt everyone uses, but these prices haven't moved, but you don't really buy that much sugar and salt compared to meat, fruits and veggies. Flour prices have also remained normal if you buy homebrand, but if you buy anything else, it is going up…

You need to remember that fruit and veg prices vary drastically whether they are in season or not eg… winter months I have seen blueberries for $11 a punnet but in summer you can always pick them up for 2-2.50.

I definately agree with you on meat though… I really dont buy a lot of meat coz its so damn expensive.

Grocery prices are going through the roof. I laugh at the ones that have the big 50% off specials… they have doubled the price in the last 6 months… :-( Big time rip off.
Shopping at coles the other day… kerissttt… the prices. Might go to DJs next time, cheaper.

Ha, I'm not alone. Coles and Woolies advertise 1/2 price specials but the items RRP get higher each time they're on the 1/2 price special. So you end up paying more without realising it. A mind trick of commercialism.
