Pretty crappy the voucher cant be used to pay for delivery.

    • -1

sign up for a new account and get free delivery?

    • +1

"Pretty crappy the voucher cant be used to pay for delivery."

That's normal that credit values don't included allowance for delivery charges. The deal is 20% off $100 of goods that they sell, not delivery services.

    • +1

Just do click & collect, then you just pick it up for free.

  • Should put NSW and VIC only in heading.

  • +1

Anybody know if this would include ACT?
I have seen some places that acknowledge ACT as part of NSW some times.

  • +1

Don't understand why this can't be valid for click and collect nationally even if the option to deliver is restricted to NSW and VIC.

  • Do you still get free delivery if it's one of your first 3? Otherwise delivery charge makes it not worthwhile.

    • Don't think that still works. Tried my second purchase yesterday and delivery was charged (even though account said first 3 free).

  • +2

please add to title '• Valid to: 30 Nov 2014'

    • +2

Bottom right of the deal box has the expiry and "days left".

  • +1

When I log into my groupon account normally I can't see this deal. I can only see this deal when I click on the OPs link. Why's that the case?

    • +1

Look down the bottom of your browser - a bar should appear saying 20% off Woolworths Online.

      • Thanks, now I see it. I don't think it was there before.

  • +1

maybe you can buy a few really big ticketed items with click and collect.
then return them at the store for a gift card (in order to use with smaller transactions)

    • +2

Yeah, that amount of effort sounds worth it for $20.

  • would it matter if its vic or nsw seeing its online promo code?

  • +8

Don't forget to combine with 4.5% cash rewards

  • Fantastic! Will save me $20 on my weekly shop which I'd do online at Woolies anyway! Thanks OP.

  • Can we use this to buy gift cards?

    • I want to know about this as well.

    • +7

I don't think you can buy gift cards on Woolworths online shopping.

  • For single transaction only?!

    • +1

      Yes

Voucher must be used in 1 transaction

  • -2

"Cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupons and/or discount"

Does that mean it won't work on stuff on special?

    • -5

you don't like using your brain much do you…

      • That's because you ate it

  • Does this include beer purchases? I couldn't see anything in the t&cs excluding it.

  • When I click 'buy now' it redirects to the home page :/ Tried when logged in/out, mobile/pc, multiple browsers…

Edit: Tried IE and it's working.

  • +6

Considering the prices of almost everything is higher online from my experience buying from the Woolies website, Im not convinced the actual discount will amount to 20%, probably closer to 10% or 15% tops.

    • +7

Buy specials only, they are the same online and in-store.

    • On the items I've bought the price difference is minimal, especially if u consider the time saved actually going in store and shopping.

    • +3

I bought a voucher a week ago and used that on cleaning products like laundry powder as they accidentally applied 45% on top of the already 1/2 price items. Bought 15 x 2kg box OMO (normal price :$20 each) plus other cleaners with the $100 voucher. Ended up paying $80.

      • True OzBargainer.

  • Wondering if I can use it in WA and would work? How exactly does Woolie limit the delivery or pick up in Vic or NSW only?

    • particularly the click and collect option.

Has anyone tried to use the voucher with a Click and Collect set to a non NSW or VIC store?

    • +7

Just to let you know I tried using the voucher in WA, and it definitely DOES NOT work. I thought I'd chance it, with click and collect. I gave it to my brother in Vic.

      • cheers, was going to try that :)

      • Sorry but pick up DOES work, at least for forest lake forum in Thornlie WA

  • Thanks OP, great find!

  • +2

Any one have the concern on the following?
    "Valid to: 30 Nov 2014"

    • You can put in an order and change the delivery time indefinitely.

    • +1

Depends whether you can put together $100 worth of stuff you want to buy between now and the end of the month. If you're waiting for particular things to go on special, the deal's probably not for you. Me, I've already bought and spent mine :-P

  • What happens if you put in an order, and then Woolies is out of stock? How will they refund you? I've made orders with Woolies before where they've cancelled part of my order due to having sold out of the thing I was buying.

    • They email you a code with $… credit linked to it. You input this code at checkout with your next online order, & your invoice is reduced by the amount linked to the code.

    • +1

It's a very annoying way of charging you for them being out of stock. Also against ACCC as they're meant to refund if they can't deliver what you order, not force you to get a credit that has limited use and a much shorter expiry.

      • I paid by WW gift card so no other credit was possible I think. Maybe they can refund directly if you pay by credit card?

        • If you pay by gift card they will sometimes do a refund by gift card although it can take 2 weeks before it is sent out. You usually have to speak to several different staff members before anyone will agree to send out a gift card refund.

      • +3

yeah they give a coupon code for the refund amount when paying by gift card, but sometimes you need to follow it up if it does not arrive automatically. what i do, is pay majority with gift card then pay about $10 to $20 with credit card, to prevent the hassle of having a refund coupon code. they can refund to credit card (unless they are out of stock of more than the $10 to $20 paid as credit card). also make sure allow substitutes.

        • +1

          Good tip m82.

        • +2

          thanks :)

just got this in my email… maybe targeted

          Free delivery
          1. Select a delivery window between 08/11/2014 & 09/11/2014
          2. Enter code DELIVERY19 at checkout when you spend $150 or more.
          3. Place your order by 8 November 2014.

        • I paid more than $70 by credit card. They had a number of out of stock items. They refunded me the amount in Coupon Codes, not back to my credit card. Furthermore, they refunded only the partial amount of the items. eg. if $5 for item, only $2.40 or so will be refunded. I had to chase up. Then they refunded one lot in full (coupon code). But another lot was refused full refund. Had to email them again. Waiting on their reply.

  • +4

Did anyone notice the ridiculous search engine on Woolworths Online.
Try mobile or coles or nokia or poison or samsung ….LOL

    • +1

Maybe, but I find Woolworths much easier to find the specials. They're just all everywhere on Coles, regardless of whether it's 1c discount or $100 discount. On Woolies you can easily find the 1/2 price deals vs. the rest of the dross ("lower price every day" rubbish)

  • OK, What do people think. Purchase a VIC or NSW voucher, but click and collect from a Tasmanian store! The fine-print does not cover click and collect state limitations! Thoughts?

    EDIT: Answered further above, you can't :( - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168330#comment-2346266

  • Reckon this would count towards the Christmas gift card promotion?

  • @marquise I haven't received the Christmas Gift Card email yet. When did you get it?

  • +2

The Woolies website is horrible to use. The link to My Past Orders is hard to find (appears as a tiny footer link on the main pages). You're given the impression that you can change order delivery details through the right menu. In fact that's only for changing delivery details for subsequent orders. Customer service are downright rude and disrespectful. They were adamant my Woolies store could not be selected from the pick up list which I proved to storefront customer service was simply not correct. Two thumbs up for retail storefront customer service and two thumbs down for the online store customer service.

  • For those wondering what to buy, my recommendation is click and collect on sale alcohol…

I got 2 Remy Martin VSOP bottle, usually $90 a bottle currently on sale for $65, so
    2 X 65 = 130
minus $20 from the groupon discount
minus $13 because I was click and collecting on my first purchase
so $97 / 2 = $48.50 a bottle, which is waaay cheap for this cognac..

    • Was that Hennessy or Remy Martin?

      • Nevermind, it looks like it's still on sale.

I ended up ordering the same. The delivery fee was also removed for some reason, so it ends up as $48.5 per bottle as well.

It goes for about $72 at Dan Murphy's.

  • Thanks @spacecowboy

  • doesn't new wow accounts get free delivery?

  • +9

    so i saved 9 dollars???

i had free delivery, then applied the groupon coupon and it wiped my free delivery and charged me $11 for delivery.

net effect, 9 dollar saving. If that's all it was it's not good deal.

  • Used the discount to purchase the Huawei Ascend http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/ProductDetails?Stoc…

Then used the 5% off petrol gift card to cover the balance and got the 4c off fuel:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/167648

So the $159 smartphone came down to about $134 saving $25.

  • This is a good deal! I get the $5 off for $50 spend vouchers all the time from the dockets.

  • +2

Confirmed that a new WW account gets free delivery and 10% discount when using this groupon voucher code.

  • Missed out on that other beer deal posted here, so used this to get 2 cases of 150 lashes. At $40 each thats pretty good

  • Nm

  • Can we buy opal topup with this?

    • You can use this voucher online only and Woolies dont allow Opal recharge thru online

  • Keep getting error message saying I cannot buy this deal as there are not enough deals left in my state (SA). Anyone else having this problem? :(

  • Note for anyone who's interested, buy some fresh chicken from the poultry section "Chicken thigh fillets at $7.99" for example and save $10 off 6 packs or cartons of James Square

  • +1

Thanks for posting! Bought exactly $100 worth of stuff.

Tip: only buy woolworth brand stuff (same price as in physical store) and stuff on special. To get to $100 exactly add something like salmon and adjust the weight so that you "top up" the amount to exactly $100.

Clicked and will be collecting tomorrow. Cheers.

    • Not all Woolworths branded goods are the same price instore and online. Check the online and the instore prices before choosing your stock.

      • Yeah that's true. I noticed eggs are a bit more expensive. Sorry.

Can someone hook me up with the code I don't want to downloadbthia grupon shit

  • you rock OP

  • FYI:

This is a tracking receipt for your recent purchase through Cash Rewards.

    Date of Sale: 14/11/2014
    Sale Value: AUD 80.00
    Expected Cashback: AUD 3.60

    • I used Starthere, and they recorded my spend as $69.63, and I"m getting a cashback of $3.13.
Does anyone know why it's $69.93? I can't be bothered to chase up the few cents as Starthere usually ignore my requests… but I'm just curious.

  • Warning to all potential buyers,
Once you applied the code to the order, you will be charged for shipping. I was charged $9 shipping even I was not charged before (I am using a new account for the second time). And as you can not stack any other vourchers, you are only save $15 for $100 spend (if you are lucky to get cash back).

    • +1

Open a new account and you will get 10% and free shipping

  • I just bought a groupon deal and I am trying to pay my items in the basket. I clicked 'pay by giftcard' but where can I find my card number and pin number in the voucher delivered from groupon???

  • i could not use it either, thinking about getting refund

  • Put the code in the coupon box

    • You have to purchase the code and in order for these codes to work they would have to be individual and one use only.

    • i did and in fact several times but still said 'sorry this discount/voucher not applicable to you', what should I do, ask Groupon for refund?

      • Probably Groupon gave you a NSW or VIC code or something from back when the deal was limited to those states only. Maybe check with them?

        • it is NSW state one and I order for NSW address, not my QLD one

  • Looks like this is back in stock. Just ordered one (& for some, you may have a $10 discount automatically applied) - I got this for $70 - thanks OP

  • +1

Pretty disappointed by Groupon, bought this voucher and the code doesn't work. I sent them an email and they responded that they needed a week to look into it, by that time the voucher would have expired. I sent off another message telling them that and they responded with "Our Resolution experts are still looking in to this issue and I will get back to you as soon as I have further update. I appreciate your patience and please do not hesitate to let me know if you need further help meanwhile." I am disappointed, its like they purposely want my voucher to expire so they can get their money without giving anything back in return. Piss poor service!

    • +2

I have same issue with you, just offline with them today and would contact ACCC asap. this is what happened, got a voucher from Groupon for spending at Woolworths Online, received the code but did not work, tried at least 10 times before I contacted Groupon, was told to contact Woolworths (which for common sense is incorrect because Woolworths would not do anything at all, and I had to tell the lady from Groupon that Woolworths would just keep advising me to contact to the seller which is Groupon) but I reassured her that it would not work, and because Groupon is the original seller of this voucher hence they have the responsibility to have it figured out for me (the voucher expired within 30 days from 1-30 Nov, that's why you pay 80 bucks to spend 100 buck-worth of items). Groupon told me to wait for few days (from 7-10 days) for them to work it out, within few days they got back to me with an email and said that it would be ok now to use the voucher, as soon as I tried, did not work again, contacted Groupon with an email straight away then never hear from them again. Because today is 28th, I am out of patient already (got the voucher on 5th and cannot use it since), rang Groupon, was told … to contact Woolworths again, I was really pissed, asked for refund and they said to give them another 7-10 days. Could not stand it, rang Woolworths just to reassured that Woolworths would not do anything for this case, and I was confirmed by a male staff named Mitchell. Thinking about a transaction dispute hence rang PayPal, picked up by a lady and the first thing she RE_ASSURED me was: 'online voucher blah blah is intangible hence not under their protection', I was like 'wtf! then why would I have to use PayPal for'. So, I am now sick of you two: Groupon and PayPal

  • According to groupon if they sell me a voucher that doen't work I'm not entitled to a refund. They told me on the phone that I'd either get a refund or extension of voucher date while the voucher was active(even though their code never worked). Today they inform I'm not entitled to one despite contacting them before my voucher expired to inform code wasn't working, and despite them promising to refund or extend expiry date. What a low life company they are. This was the response I just got from them "Mohamed Riyas (Groupon Australia)
    Dec 01 17:02

    Hi Ronald,

    Thank you for your patience.

Please note as per the Fine Print of your deal, vouchers were valid for orders delivered or collected by 30 Nov 2014. For this reason, you are not eligible for a refund in this instance. It is extremely important to adhere to all deal fine print and terms and conditions to avoid disappointment.

As we understand this may have been an oversight, I have credited your Groupon account with $20 credits as a gesture of goodwill. This is valid until 01/12/2015. I encourage you to purchase another deal for an unforgettable Groupon experience!

Thank you so much for your support - we honestly couldn't do it without you!

    Regards,

    Mohamed Riyas"

I am pissed off to say the least

    • $20 voucher/credit isn't going to make up for the $80 you've already spent.

I'm wondering if there is such a thing as a warranty in this situation. The "code" you purchased didn't do what it was supposed to do or was faulty in some way. If this had been a physical item you'd be entitled to your money back under warranty conditions.

I hope you get your money back.

      • Their argument is that I never followed the conditions of the usage of the code and that's why it wouldn't work on my orders. What I suspect happened is they gave me a code that wasn't valid for my state, because this deal was originally limited to NSW and Victoria I believe. I purchased my code after it was advertised as Nation wide. I submitted a claim back through my bank, luckily it was within the 30 day window and paypal wouldn't help me. I have had a horrible experience dealing with their awful customer service. They employ some untrustworthy people, they lied to me that I'd be entitled to a refund irrespective of the expiry date, and they were selling these vouchers within a few days of their expiry, yet they need 7-10 days to investigate if the code didn't work. Now I need to put in a complaint to ACCC, because that is some dodgy practices they have going on, they shouldn't be allowed to take your money without giving you anything in return.

    • +1

Yeah that's an ACCC complaint for sure. Fine print doesn't override your consumer law rights.
