  Well I bought a LG KF700 and found it it was only locked by a security lock. All I had to do was to master reset the phone and the lock was removed however I'm not sure if it applies to this Samsung Phone. @bargain: its a crazy johns phone which uses vodafone network.

  If they're not locked or easy to unlock, is it possible to give the credit to someone else or is it bound to the sim? Maybe someone with Crazy Johns would be willing to buy the credit for half-price or so? Having to recharge every 30 days seems like a catch and a hassle.

    It's possible to give the printed out credit voucher to someone else, and they can recharge a Crazy Johns Prepaid service.

    It's not possible to transfer credit from one mobile to another.

    Maybe someone with Crazy Johns would be willing to buy the credit for half-price or so?
