Fast-Paced Future Warfare – In Titanfall the advanced warfare of tomorrow gives you the freedom to fight your way as both elite assault Pilot and agile, heavily armored 24’ tall Titans. Still overpriced considering you never find a game.

    • The trend towards Multiplayer only, micor payments in game for basic content and DRM hassles have made gaming not much fun lately. I never did like multiplayer because people tend to be total jerks and no one polices it. I look for older single player titles these days - plenty I haven't had time to play since "growing up". The only thing I worry about is the lack of backward compatibility for the systems when the companies move on to the next latest and greatest hardware or operating system.

      • +1

Get a Wii U, shit loads of single player games and its backward compatible with Wii games.

        • wrong thread.

        • +1

          C'mon m8, no-one willingly uses a console over a PC just like no-one willingly uses a wheelchair.

  • +1

Wish they'd put new content up already, feels like they're just milking it at this stage.

    • They only just put up a coop horde type of mode last week, unless you don't think that counts as new content…

  • +10

Pretty fun game but there is literally no-one playing this anymore. Quite a shame really

  • Hmm, tempting… does this activate on steam?

    • no

    • Activates on EA's client, Origin.

      • +5

Cheers guys, personally hate origin (since there isn't a backup function, that i can find, and have to redownload everytime should i need to install onto another PC).

Guess I'll let this go =)

        • can copy/paste the install dir.

        • +6

projectzero copy the game files just the same as you can do on steam
i have all my origin game and steam gme files on my 2tb external hard drive so i dont have to redownload them ever.

        • @holden93: I wish my steam and origin game files could fit on a 2tb backup drive

        • +4

@holden93: Holden is essentially right, but here's the full procedure in case you need it:

          1. Find your Origin Games install folder. This is found under the Gear icon Button > Settings > Downloaded Games. If the path was left at default, this will be "C:\Program Files\Origin Games"

          2. Close down Origin (if open), navigate to the folder, and back up all of the game installs. In the Downloaded games folder you will find subfolders that are named per the games' titles (i.e. "Battlefield 3" ) - copy or move these to a temporary location - this may take a while depending on the size of your library.

          3. Uninstall Origin. If you're moving from one drive to another, you'll need to first uninstall origin, then delete its install folder. Make sure to select "No" when it asks if you want to keep its settings. If you're reinstalling Origin after a Windows reinstall, you wont need to do this and can just delete the Origin folder.

          4. Reinstall Origin, then run the program once and log in, and make sure the games install directory is where you want it to be (see Step 1).

          5. Initiate a download for all your games and let it progress to at least 0.01% or slightly further and then pause all downloads (if its created the folder for the game in the Origin Games folder, that's usually enough). This step ensures Origin creates the necessary registry keys and application data folders.

          6. Close down Origin (ensure Origin.exe is not running in task manager), and move your backed up games back to the Origin Games folder. When prompted to "Merge Folders" select yes, and select "Move and Replace" if Windows asks to overwrite any files.

          7. Open Origin, and after giving it a few seconds, it should re-read the game files and the progress bars should hit 100%. After a few more seconds, it'll tell you it's ready to install.

          8. A repair install maybe necessary for certain games that refuse to start or run properly after being moved. Right-click the game icon in your Origin library and click "Repair Game".

"The Future of online multiplayer action"…will be that people will struggle to find a game?

    • Maybe they're trying to say that the future of multiplayer online action will be dead?

  • So no single play?

  • How hard is it really to find a game?

    • +1

Not that hard. The new update lets you see how many players are in each server. The downside is that the update has also broken a few things, it takes a lot longer to to get a match and often times I end up on a foreign high-ping server. Hopefully that will be fixed soon. The new 'team' mode is great for levelling up quickly.

  • Man what a shame, this game really died, that studio must be hurting.

    • Yep, IMHO that's the danger of putting all of your game development eggs in the online multiplayer basket; not having at least some form of campaign/single player mode really limits your target market & potential gameplay longevity…sadly, the proof is in the pudding here!

    • +2

No server browser, only 6v6 format with bots filling the rest of the spots, the decision to only host servers in Microsoft data centers. What could possibly go wrong?

  • +1

here is a crazy sexy idea, if all the people here got the game and find other ozbargainers who bought the game before then we can play together :D

  • I was reading on forums about the que times for finding games, apparently it depends on the game mode and it's actually not too long. I might consider getting this now however the HUGE download is kind of a turn off… :(

    • that forum is a lie!

  • +4

It's about a 20gb download but expands to around 50gb once installed.. Most of that 50gb is uncompressed audio..

    • +1

Idiotic of the developers not to use a compression algorithm like ogg or Mp3 on the audio.

$10 is the lowest Titanfall has ever been.

    • The game is based on the source engine, which seems to have a preference for 16 bit stereo 44KHz .WAV audio files.

  • I believe titanfall is still on origin's free time. i.e. you can register an account with origin and get 72hrs of play time. YOu can check out the queues etc in that time.

  • I bought it but grew bored really really really quickly.

Took ages to try and get a campaign game, when you did it would drop connection and you'd have to start all over again. ppl who played often were using stupid loop holes to win a game. And wtf is that prestige garbage about?

  • Titanfall really did have a potential to be a fantastic game. Unfortunately I just didn't find it that find it that fun and found it overly simplistic. Also it was hard to find games with many people. As soon as I got Battlefield 4, Titanfall was never played again.

  • I played when they offered the free hours and thought the game was really fun. But ive read so many people saying the game is dead.

  • Sounds like a great deal. Game has never been this cheap.. Too bad no one is playing it any more this side of the world.

  • +2

Apparently its only available to US residents?

    • +1

Then make yourself a US resident…go to your address book and enter a fake US address.

To avoid sales tax, use a state that is exempted from sales tax. Here is a list of states that are taxed.

      • +1

Works fine if you use a fake address?

        • +1

Yep works fine just do what scrimshaw says

        • Yep, I just made my address New York, Zip code: 10001.

          Worked well!

  • Just played it on gametime, wasn't too hard to find an attrition game. Waited maybe 1 minute.

It has more players in AUS than NS2 which is what I usually play

its definitely fun; worth the 10$ so i'll buy it

  • +1

Great core game, bad server setup and small player base. I've had it since launch.

You should almost always be able to find an attrition game, and those are fun enough on their own to justify $10.

Hopefully a sequel will maintain a larger headcount. Real missed opportunity this.

  • +1

Sad to think that if this was steam it would probably be so bloody popular!

  • For what it's worth I actually think that this is a really fun game and never have a problem finding an online death match

  • The game shows as currently unavailable to purchase and Amazon doesn't know when or if this item will be available again.

    • It's still available as "Instant Access". Not sure what the difference is… both of them activate on Origin via CD Key Code.

      http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-Titanfall-Instant-Acce…

      • I think "Instant Access" needs your Origin account linked to Amazon store for the purchase to go through (I might be incorrectly remembering this).

    • it's available again now (pc download).
