What causes the white spots?
I've read up on it. Apparently it might be backlight bleeding a pretty common issue.
Thanks. As to PQ, Do you think it's a matter of LCD being inferior to plasma, or the SONY is simply not a very impressive LCD TV?
I never had backlight bleeding on my plasma. Sony is a good manufacturer, I think this part of a bigger lcd problem.
Tracking number I got from Star Track does not work. Anyone else run into the same issue?

Anyone know who I contact in regards to warranty? Is it Sony, CoTD or Dick Smith? I'm pretty concerned about my backlight bleeding which is getting worse.

I got my tv yesterday I must disagree with you I am very impressed by the quality of this tv. No white spots or anything of the sort. Foxtel HD channels look fantastic and my Xbox one found a new home. $800 price tag people quality compared with price amazing value for what ugot
When I lay my hand on top of the TV I can swivel it a bit. Is that normal?
Its normal insofar as the stand is weak and can be messed with, but don't do it because its definitely not a feature of the TV but rather an area where it fails.

I'm enjoying this set. Not as nice as a plasma but looks pretty good. The motionflow thing is pretty stupid on most settings - too dark on some and just soap opera effect on others. Watching some A-League on SBSHD now so going to try some different settings with sport on.
The shipping time for the TV was unbelievable received it two days after purchasing. However I'm not impressed by the TV. I owned a 43inch plasma Samsung before this and it trumps it in terms of picture quality (except in game mode, which is great). I mounted the TV and the HDMI and USB ports are so far in on the side its become a mission to plug anything in. Finally I'm starting to notice white spots or mist on the right hand side of my tv no less then 24 hours after using. Really wanted to be impressed by this TV.
