jacked up by $3 now.
Wow any future customers are getting ripped off!
Well yesterday I rooted my device ;) took the whole of 10 seconds (for future use) and also installed the google now launcher from the play store which is free and far better than plain stock…I eagerly await the lollipop update :)
Towelroot?
Never use tools to root. It's so simple to do it manually with Nexus devices via fastboot.
Yes Towelroot, it could not be any simpler :)
Simple != Best
I got mine yesterday and it looks totally brand new - all packaging etc, though the power pack was american style. They did give me an aussie charger though.
Great deal!
They gave you an extra charger?
I got 2 phones and only got US chargers (and no adapters.)
yeah I got an extra AU charger.
The US charger is pretty good quality and I successfully bent the pins with a pair of bull nose pliers to the correct angle to fit an AU socket.
Now I have 2 chargers!
Purchased Wednesday arvo, arrived Friday morning, looks like a brand new device, +1 from me!
Android 5 OTA was just made available for mine!
Not me! :(
Anyway, might wait a bit for you guinea pigs to try it first. ;)
All good so far I assume.www.android.gs/google-nexus-4-android-5-0-lollipop-ota-updat…
Android 5.0 Lollipop LRX21T OTA Update is rolling out in phases, which means that not all Nexus 4 users will get the new firmware at the same time. All Nexus 4 smartphones running Android stock ROMs will receive official update notifications, while those models running custom ROMs cannot be updated using the official update channels.
I updated via fastboot (don't know why people wait for OTA) few days ago and it's fine. There's no reason to wait.
I downloaded the ota, it rebooted but I still have 4.4.4. I think it failed because after the reboot quite a few apps needed updating. I'm waiting for ota because of sheer laziness. Who can be bothered messing with cables and computers and downloads all for a new os? Each to their own.
@AlisonP: There's instructions online for manually 'forcing' an OTA check.

A week later, still haven't got it…
Came in a few hours later of course.

My nexus 4 from Expansys has a problem with the ear speaker, so I have to return it for replacement. Unfortunately, there is no stock left for the nexus 4, they ask me for repair or refund. I chosen the refund option. The Expansys customer service is great, the only negative thing is their Australia phone number does not work. If you want to contact them just use the email, they will get back to you really quickly
But from Kogan
What do you mean?
Too late now. Kogan had it for $169 with free delivery. Keep an eye out.
Some of you have asked me how to bend the pins of the US charger. This is how.
Lollipop OTA popped up on my phone this morning, going to have a read up before applying it.
Edit: I get a full day of frequent use out of my Nexus :)
Or use this ROM
