I have decided to open the orders up early to allow the people who missed out to get their orders in quickly.
I say it again, these are PRE ORDERS only. They will be shipped out on approximately the 3'rd of November, but it could be earlier or (unlikely) later.

EDIT: Wow, yet again OzBargain has managed to surprise!

How do you prepare it? (to make tea I mean)

    • +3

      First, you're gonna need a Geisha…

  • +1

Hey rep, do you also have the recipe for the macaron and the macha thingy with berries shown on the homepage? They look delicious.
Or are they just stock images?

  • +8

Spoon some into a cup, add hot water around 80 degrees. Wait 2 - 3 mins, bring cup towards mouth, open mouth, pour 30 mls into mouth, swallow.

    • +23

      Too complicated for me.

I just spoon the matcha into my mouth and then drink boiling water.

      • +2

Sounds like you need to keep an eye on ozbargain for a deal on teacups mate. :)

Instructions unclear, ended up in Japan with nothing but socks on my feet, and police are chasing me. Halp.

    • +3

Thank you for thorough instructions A+++ will ask again

For a smoother drink, I would also recommend the following:

      • Run the powder through a fine tea sieve (Got mine at Big W)
      • Use one of those handheld milk frothers ($2.80 @ Daiso or similarly priced @ Ikea)
      • don't let the tea stand for too long, or some of the matcha powder will settle at the bottom of your cup
  • why so expensive?100g for $10?What the different compared with the 400g for $9 (Greenmax brand) I bought from Chinese grocery store?

    • +4

Same as coffee, differences in quality/tastes. Further, some may prefer to purchase matcha from Japan rather than China given the differences in food standards etc.

      • +4

        Fair enough.

400g $9 is for people like me, no money
100 $10 is for wealthy people not for me

    • co-ask, Daiso also has Janpanese Matcha for $2.8, not sure the weight, but should be over 100g

    • +2

before i put my money down on some dirty water. could the rep please tell us where these leaves are harvested from? your website tells us bugger all.

      • so 1 or 2 teaspoons?

        • +1

          1 tea spoon

    • +1

100g works out to approximately 100 serves according to their product description.

  • Thanks OP! Missed on on the original deal while checking out.
Green tea smoothies here I come!

  • there are recipes on google & youtube.. to dissolve the matcha powder properly buy yourself a $2 milk frother from IKEA

  • Ordered 2 packs.
    Thanks for the deal.

While this is a good deal in australia, if you're willing to wait, i've ordered matcha powder off ebay shipping from hong kong and it costs around $4 for 100g.

    $3.58 for 100g shipped.

Is this stuff 2.8 times better and if so how?

    • +8

Attack of the Australian middle man

    • I'm confused. Why do they show 3 different packagings?

      • i'm also confused. the packaging states "japan's favourite tea". i thought sencha was japan's favourite tea.

        • depends on whether you're talking volume or preference. Sencha would definitely be number one in terms of volume. In terms of peoples favourite tea, I would say its probably shincha.

    • Judging from the QS mark on the images that is manufactured in China. OP's are from Japan.

      • -3

The Chinese is the same as Japanese, but with added melamine.

  • Anyone used this with an aeroccino?

    • +1

Yes, this works. But the powder still clumps up together so better to sieve it in first.

    • mix it with hot milk first, adding cold milk plus this powder will just create clumps

  • Damn, the website was very slow.
I entered all of my details and was about to pay but received this message:

Sorry, "Super Matcha Green Tea Powder 100 Grams (Pre Order Only)" is not in stock. Please edit your cart and try again. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Ozbargained already?

  • Out of stock, again?

  • Dammit. Missed out again! :(

  • +1

Hi @supermatcha, do you have more info about this tea? where is it from? I couldn't find info on your site about the origin. If from Japan, which part of Japan? And also how is the matcha produced?

    Thanks.
