Thanks for that info. Not worth buying OS for that small price difference.
Yup was first to like the deal, but always check Staticice your local store might be cheaper… lol
sdfsdf
It may be cheaper here but nobody seems to have stock
Any deals on the 500GB?
MSY seems to be the cheapest @ $319…
Is it worth the extra ~$100 over the 840 Evo?
I've heard that some of the 840 Evo SSDs are suffering from the reading speed for the files older than 1 month slowing down to 1/4 of its normal speed. There has been a release of firmware update, on Oct 15th, to fix the problem but I heard that the firmware update for Linux, Mac users and AMD AHCI users and those who paired SSD in RAID is not out yet. So I guess if you are one of those people, then maybe?
@AznMitch & @maybeamacy: Yup since the recent patch the drive seem to work optimally, but in my opinion not worth $100 more for the PRO, as we are looking for value, both are equally good drives and the EVO is one of the MOST popular drives, so you will always have great support.
Do you guys think I should wait till Christmas to get one and see if the price drops anymore? I was just installing the new OS X and was thinking to myself that it's taking ages to install so that's why I'm thinking of getting one, nothing urgent.
@maybeamacy: Can't say, although MSY recently had a few SSD specials not Samsung, hope a rep reads our plea… lol :P
MSY have the 840 PRO 256gb for $132, 128gb for $76
No deal…
but do they have stock , as bargainsniper mentioned nobody seems to stock it
That is not the price for the 840 PRO.
That is the price for the 840 EVO

Waiting for Amazon to sell the Crucial M550 1TB for $us390 again… Or for the MX100 to come in a 1TB version.
thanks..
EDIT:
The 256GB becomes AUD $166~ delivered, which is $1 more expensive than a couple of local stores…
Even the 128GB is cheaper locally….
