  • Fun fact: Captain Morgan Spiced Gold ISN'T technically rum. It doesn't even claim it is. It is a "Premium Spirit Drink".

    • Makes all the difference too as this is disgusting.

    • Real men drink Bundaberg Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuum.

      • Ugh.

Sorry, it's stuck in my head. Every time I watch a video on Youtube I get that ad.

    • Err it says Rum on the bottle, on the Ad, and its fermented cane sugar…ahla Rum

Not as harsh as Bundy & tasty with bundy ginger beer. Rum's not single malt, its made to be mixed.

I am working my way through a bottle of this at the moment.. thought Id give it a go since its cheap.. but regretting it now.

Of course taste varies person to person, but I reckon for a little extra pocket change, these are FAR better tasting spiced rums:

      Sailor Jerry $39.90

      Rebellion Bay $37.99

I'll stick with good ol' Sailor Jerry thanks

  • Ay! Tis good for those cold nights alone at sea.

Ahoy! Better for when not alone, to let the seamen run wild, you salty sea dog.

      • Captain Pants, Captain Pants, a tale of seamen and romance…and more than likely Rum.

  • If you're looking for a good alternative that's actually good, try The Kraken. It's a spiced darm rum and you can drink it neat quiet easily (this is coming from someone who didn't know what neat even was when they first tried it)

It's not cheap at about $50 a bottle from Dan Murphy's but it Sooooooooooooooooo worth it.

It's good by itself, ice or a bit of coke if you are inclined…….ಠ_ಠ

Reality is all of the suggestions above are shite.
The best rum I have had (I am a yachtie with near 40 years of rum drinking, much of it from winning races is..)

Easiest to get, Inner circle, preferably green dot
If I could access it, Hamilton Jamaican Black Rum and Four Bells

Pot stilled rums are where its at.
