They cleared out the wrong case!

  • Just wanted to point out that 'case' can mean lots of different things, and I only discovered which one by going to the google cache of the site as it wasn't loading. When I saw this post I thought it was luggage cases or something.

    • Thermaltake luggage cases.. now there's an idea!! :P

      • With liquid cooling, noise dampening, and side windows to speed up the airport inspection process.

  • massive discounts here, very little stock though hope i can get some!!

    • Remember shipping will cost a fair bit - some of those cases are 13kg I think.

  • no warranty on these…

    • who the hell needs warranty on a piece of steel?

      • +2

Cases often have moving parts, switches, displyas, etc. What's the point of getting a thermaltake case if all you're getting is a beat up piece of steel? You can pick that up on the verge before bulk rubbish collection.

The thermaltake cases with the flip open front/door cover were notorious for having the hinges break on the front covers. Since they are just tiny weak pieces of plastic. Pleanty of reports all over the net on these.

some of these cases have got lcd screens as well, as you can see from the description of the post. don't be too quick to judge before reading it all.

I remember posting a comment here to say that the description doesn't really mention what type of 'case' this is. Although the name Thermaltake and the idea that a case is a desktop computer case may be second nature to some of you, I think that for the average person or visitor to ozbargain it is not abundantly clear. As the link wasn't working I only found out by looking at the Google cached version.

If someone else has deleted my post, then I wish to say that while I don't object to you deleting comments, such censorship seems not only unjustified, but also sad and dishonest.

    • Your comment is still there.

Some people have voted negatives against it. I think that means the comment is "hidden".

At the top of the comments, you may see a "Show all hidden comments" box. If you can see that, you can tick the box and see your comment is still there.

Thank you for the comment; I have also updated the title to reflect that these are computer cases.

    • I read your comment shortly after it was posted and got a bit of a laugh out of it. It was one of those "it's funny because it's true" moments as you were quite right in saying cases could mean a number of things and the brand Thermaltake may be unknown for some. You even went to the trouble of linking, so I was quite suprised to see it get voted down.

Anyway, back on topic - does anyone know what the response time is and how stock is allocated? Is it a case of whoever says "I will buy it regardless" first or is it reserved for whoever emailed in first wanting to confirm its condition?
Hopefully its the latter because there's not much stock and I don't want to miss out!

      • not sure, i sent an email with a list of things I'd like in order of preference, hopeing I get at least 1…

  • Web site still not working this morning. Looks like its gone offline due to server load on this deal?

  • deal isnt even really that good, website is even worse

  • Don't know if there are many bargains to be had here - I just did a staticice search on Xaser 6 case from the list above, and it was available - at full warranty and in new condition - for as low as $119. I haven't downe comparable searches on the other items, so there may be some gems, but just based on this, I won't be bothering.

    • Xaser VI =/= Xaser VI mx

The Xaser VI is usually about $250 so ~50% off isn't bad

  • Will this cleanout pay for more bandwidth for a decent website that actually loads :)

  • How do you buy it? Are they on sale now?

    • follow the link, find article you want to buy and follow instructions on that site to email the person. They will then reply with cost/postage.

I'm quite happy with my Thermaltake Matrix I got a few years back, pretty decent case from them.

  • I think quite a bit of that stock is sold already, but the page has not been updated (was what happened for a case I wanted), so I'd probably assume that most or all of the stock is sold now.

  • Well I got a total bargain, Picked up the Mozart medialab w/430W (possibly faulty LCD, B grade) - $59 this arvo. I don't think this case has even had a motherboard installed in it. The case is in A1 nick and the LCD is not faulty, I just installed the sound graph driver for it.
    Thanks Matt88 for posting.
