Was your First year annual fee waived for ANZ Black FF Credit Card?

Hi,

I read this thread https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/151161 in July and applied for ANZ Black FF Credit Card.
What I understand was I would received 50,000 Qantas FF points and also my first year annual fee would be waived.

I found annual fee charged on my first statement (August). Then I rang ANZ and he told me the annual fee would be reimbursed after 3 months.

Today I rang ANZ again and she told me the promotion I mentioned did not exist. She told me it was only for ANZ Black reward credit card not FF one and I could be misreading.

I could not find any support document and I might really misunderstood. (English is my second language.)

Could anyone please confirm this?

    I have not been charged the fee, my signup (and date on letter of offer) was 29/7/14.

    Look at your letter of offer, the "Letter of Offer ANZ Frequent Flyer Black account", and on the back of the first page under "Credit Fees and Charges" "Annual Account Fee". After listing the two components of the fee, mine goes on to say "The Annual Account Fee and Rewards Program Services Fee are not payable in the first year".

    So in good news, the offer did exist. I'm just not sure if they changed it thereafter, as it doesn't say it anywhere I can see now. (I didn't look very hard though)

    The annual fee waiver may have been changed. Did you capture a screenshot of the offer when you first applied?

    I didn't sign up on the Black card, mine was the Platinum but signed up in July 2014, spent $1500, got the QFF points in late August and as of October have definitely not been charged an annual fee.
    Pretty certain all three (basic, platinum and black) cards had no annual fee.

    They charged me the annual fee as well and then i made a complaint, it was escalated and they refunded it, do you have your welcome pack it should say the annual fee is waived in there

    Yep check welcome letter/pack if you still have it - the "cut off" date for when they changed the promo for all three QFF rewards cards (ie when they dropped the previous no fee for first year) was applications approved by 26 august (or maybe 28 august, can't remember exact date). A lot of people around that time and earlier were still charged though, and had to escalate it - per a few threads and comments on Australian frequent flyer forums
