Celebrate the Halloween season with Pumpkaboo! You can get this special Ghost- and Grass-type Pokémon via Nintendo Network distribution during the month of October. This Super Size Pumpkaboo comes with moves that fit the Halloween theme, including Trick-or-Treat and Scary Face. Plus, it's holding a Rocky Helmet, which can cause damage to its attacker!

When traded, this Pokémon evolves into Gourgeist, which is the Pokémon you need to compete in the Trick-or-Treat Friendly. Trade Pumpkaboo with a friend so you're both ready to compete!

          If you do it with a friend or someone local you can just swap, then swap back again to keep your OT Poke.

        This is exactly what I thought. Evolutions by trade have been around since the first 150. Polywhirl, Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler and Haunter all only evolve into their respective third forms when traded.

        I remember trading a Kadabra this way. Of course, I did it with a friend and not a rough stranger who'd steal 'my' new Alakazam, though at that point he'd probably steal my Game Boy too.

      Depends on the pokeball your using.

      300 to 1500 poke bucks or whatever they are called, and the power points to reduce the wild pokemons health to a catchable point.

      You need to beat the Pokemon League 25 times with only Magikarps before Gary gives you the upgraded Strength HM. You can then move the truck near the cruise ship to find Pumpkaboo and Mew. Mew is a 1 in 9001 chance to be found.

      My friend told me this and it works!!

    Thanks op. It seems so easy to get free Pokemon these dates. I remember lining up for ages at Macquarie centr back in 1999 just to get a Mew onto my Pokemon Blue. And the only way to see Pokemon in colour on a big screen (not counting the anime) was through the super game boy!

    Awesome. Not sure about ghost pokemon/grass with Rocky Helmet, not so great against fighting or MegaKang but Leechseed/Gigadrain/WoW Gourgeist is pretty okay as a switch-in. Nice to actually be able to get event Pokemon with an AU 3DS. Normally I have to actually buy them from US players because most of the promo Pokemon are exclusive to Japan/Gamestop or something.
