Ring roadside assistance or your local locksmith

  • Yeah ring road side. They have the tools to get your car door open. It amazes me what they can do

  • Have you owned the car from new? Your dealer should be able to get a code for the key and you can get a new key cut from that code.

If you haven't owned the car from new, have you been getting it serviced by a Toyota dealer? If so, you should have enough of a relationship with them to be able to get the key code from them.

Otherwise, try calling Toyota themselves and see what you have to do to get the key code.

    • I am the 3rd owner. I will give a call to Toyota. thanks mate.

get someone open the door , then remove the lock, give the lock to locksmith they then can make u a key to open the lock. u might prefer the left hand side one because usually it's the one that wear less.

  • I just got a key replaced for my 2002 Mitsubishi. It cost $100 because of the little RFID chip inside. I snapped the spare I had.

Locksmith said it was a really good idea getting it replaced straight away as if I broke both it would require a call to a dealer and probably $200+ to get a replacement at that point.

Also of note, my new key wasn't cut from the original. It was cut from the original pattern on file.

I had no idea my car had the smart locking stuff, maybe yours might too?

    • I am from Sydney. If you from Sydney, can you please tell me which lock smith you use? I call some one asking for $345.

      Thanks mate

      • Not in Sydney unfortunately.
