Need Receipt: Aldi Crofton Enamel Coated Dutch Oven Receipt

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone is kind enough to provide me a copy of their receipt of their Crofton Enamel Coated Cast Iron Dutch Oven from Aldi. It's approximately 5L and oval in shape.

Here is a photo of it- (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/09/29/51800ee1ee38b8dc9…)

The enamel has chipped off. I purchased it 1-2 years ago, I can't remember exactly when but I do know it 'had' a 5 year warranty.

Of course the 5 year warranty is only valid if I have a receipt.

So I'm hopeful someone here has a copy of their receipt that I can use to get it replaced.

I was told not to heat it up too high or the enamel can crack. To be honest I've always used it on a low to medium heat so was surprised when one day I pulled it out and use it and it cracked when I started to heat it up.

I wonder how many other people have had their claim declined because they didn't keep the receipt. Aldi knows when they sold it, and it does have a 5 year warranty, so not like I'm trying to pull a dodgy.

Yes, Aldi can be tricky with their insistence on receipts even when they know that the product is theirs…. good luck finding a receipt……

  • Thanks.

Aldi know it's theirs as they are the only ones selling Crofton.

I'm sure they can also pinpoint exactly when the sale was on.

  • I wish I could help. I have one, but I paid <$10 for mine when it was reduced…this is actually the only way I will buy Aldi kitchen stuff now, I either wait til it's so cheap I can just bin it if it's crap, or I simply don't bother with it at all.

Somebody wisely noted in another recent Aldi thread, halve your expectations when it comes to Aldi…this is a very good mantra!

  • Bargain.

Unfortunately if you want it, sometimes you gotta pay the full asking price (which isn't that much to be honest).

I think I paid around $50 for it, which is cheap (assuming it's well made). I guess it's not that cheap with the chip! lol… I used it 15-20 times, so a couple of dollars per use.

I still can use it as a cast iron dutch oven, but just have to make sure the enamel will not chip off any further.

Given Aldi's cyclic nature, you could wait til next time they sell them, buy another, return your stuffed one, keep good one…rinse & repeat! ;)

I don't hesitate to do this, much less hassle.

How would you have paid for it? If you can go to your bank and get copy of statement, ALDI is required to preserve transaction histories, if you can match the two up… Not done this at ALDI, but in Harvey Norman and JB.

    • Most likely eftpos, however, given we shop there say once a week, this is not feasible.

  • I will now take a photo of my receipts and then email it to myself to keep a record.

  • Does this help?

Sorry just saw your reply about how you shop at Aldi's weekly.

  • Perhaps this might help narrow down the purchase date:

Then use your credit card/EFTPOS statement to verify purchase as per above post.

I found these links by searching Google for "Crofton Dutch Oven Aldi catalogue"

There may be more examples available with a more extensive search.

    • Thanks Steve!

Found it. Not via google as I did a search.

      I did a search within http://www.discountstoresau.com

      It's here- http://www.discountstoresau.com/aldi-catalogue/special-buys-…

It didn't say what year but only said Wed 5 Dec, but checked my calender and it was 2012.

The good thing is the Ad stated 5 year warranty.

I thought it was around $50, but it was only $30. Quite a bargain even at full price if it lasts 5 years.

Also found the bank statement, showing a $60 transaction on the 4th December 2012 at 18:00.

(Aldi use to bring out their specials the evening before the official sale date)
