  Hmmm, dunno if it's just me, but the arse seems to be dropping out of FHD TVs across the board…methinks possibly a push on UHD soon?

    Probably a no brainer but with options like Freeview Plus, smart functions and, as you say, UHD, makes sense that dumb TVs are being cleared…

        @StewBalls: It's a different ballgame now though. The PS3 and XBOX 360 way back in 06/07 supported full HD right out of the box, now I doubt we'll see a 4k game console for another 6 years or so.

        Blu-ray came out at the same time as the PS3 did. Now the PS4 is out and DVDs are still being manufactured alongside Blu-Ray's.

        We won't be seeing much 4k content for a loooong time.

      freeview plus is pointless, we already have 7,9, 10, sbs and abc catch up tv aps on smart tv's

        Freeview plus seems to be a push for a more unified thing which I'm definitely for. It's much more convenient to be using just one app instead of four or five.
