  • Paid $280 when eBay had the 15% off offer. Cracker of a unit. No regrets.

  • I also bought it when Ebay 15% off for AUD200.

  • Brilliant Router! had mine for a while now and it fantastic!

  • Just bought one for 200 in 15% ebay deal. It is a good one, however in both 2.4 and 5g not big different from my old rt-n56u, 2.4g is the same, range almost same as well, for 5g, range is same too however if use ac adapter, speed improved from 22mb/s to around 26-35mb/s. So unless you really care about the ac or that bit speed improvement otherwise go get a n56u, saved you 100 bucks and half of the size as well.

    • 35mb/s is pretty bad for using AC adapter, you sure it is a good one?
a 27dbm 2.4ghz AP is cheaper and 4 times faster, at double the range.

    galvion and nicky100,
This is the DSL-AC68U, not the RT-AC68U.

A big plus for the RT-AC68U is that DD-WRT is supported on the RT-AC68U. It adds the possibility of many new features. It was supported right when the router was released.

But DSL-AC68U. It is a DSL modem and not supported. Sure, it's a nice DSL modem router, but the D-Link DSL-2890AL sells for $219 ($50 less) and the TP-Link AC1750 is $149.00 ($120 less). Sure they are AC1700 not AC1900 but is it really worth it?

Thread on Whirlpool does seem to find a few pluses for the DSL-AC68U over those competitors. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2272447

  • I have the DSL-AC68U and the RT-AC68U, I prefer to just use one unit if I can instead of a seperate modem and router. RT-AC68U will be setup as a extrender/repeater in the man cave. The DSL connects at the same speed as my previous setup and wifi connects on the 5GHz band at 887Mb/s. Been more than happy with it.
