Vodafone - More Data on Prepaid + Additional Data if You Recharge Online

110

Apart from the fact that Vodafone is changing their prepaid plans to include more data - (more details below). They are giving bonus data (50 to 500MB) if you recharge online through their site or through their app.

Link: http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/mcp/recharge-reward-prep…

$30 cap used to come with 500mb data - now its gonna be 1GB. Below is the copy paste from their website:

Bonus data has been flowing on our Prepaid Caps – and it’s not stopping anytime soon. From September 24, our new Prepaid Caps will give you more data than ever before. Plus, you’ll score a Recharge Reward – giving you even more data when you recharge online.

Our $50 Cap now comes with a massive 3GB of data, infinite standard talk, TXT and PXT in Oz. Plus, until January 6 you’ll get infinite standard calls to 10 countries: China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, NZ, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UK and the USA (personal use only, fair use policy applies).

Your Cap credit will now be for talk and TXT (excludes premium services) and can’t be used for data anymore.

My Vodafone makes it easier than ever to recharge. Head to vodafone.com.au/recharge and get your Recharge Reward.

Mod - I assumed it's deal as bonus data might go away soon; if you think it belongs somewhere else, please move.

  • can anyone confirm if this is valid yet?

I had a text last week from Vodafone saying this was from 24th (Wednesday)

also when you go to topup if you click options you get:
    http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/prepaid?channel=

and it states old tariffs still.

*ignore just noticed on the site it does say from 24th :) haha

    • Yup - I received the same text - confirmed from the link given in the text and its their own site's link so should be good!

Oh Thank you! This is great! 1GB as opposed to 500MB

    • O yeah :)

  • Does anyone know if you recharge online do you do it via credit card or debit card or can u use vouchers?

    • I have used debit card; so debit/credit are good.
Not sure which vouchers you are asking about?

      • You can buy prepay vouchers from supermarkets etc. Often you get a discount.

        • So if I buy vouchers I dont get the 1GB?? Since it's not ONLINE purchase?

        • @Turd: hmm- guess you are right - vouchers is basically money spent in store, hence might not be able to get discount.

        • Which vouchers are these? available in woolies/coles - different from recharge options they have on their billing machine?

So over vodafail, their terrible reception and poor response has really made me keen to leave. Prepaid is ok but you are billed every 28 days rather than monthly so you end up paying a lot more each year compared to a normal monthly prepaid plan. The devil is in the details and they charge me a $0.33 processing fee every month on top of my plan, seems they can only get better..

    • And here I was thinking I might try them again after leaving during the great vodafail fiasco of 2010. But my current prepaid is $28 for 45 days, and 5gb of data (yay grandfathered woolies mobile).

So $40 cap comes preloaded with 2GB with just 0.5GB extra for non-voucher purchasers.

I take this to mean they are NOT degrading anything with the grandfathered users, so add-on-favourites stays in place. I certainly hope they aren't, will take a very dim view if they do.

    • Your Cap credit will now be for talk and TXT (excludes premium services) and can’t be used for data anymore.

Does this mean we cannot buy data add-ons using the funny money for those who still can buy data packs from the flexi credit?

      • buying is different I guess - this means that when you get out of data - you will not be provided with extra data (at cost of your balance).

  • I have 20Gb (favourites packs) expiring in 20 days and 3gb (plan inclusion) expiring in 10 days. Is there anyway to extend the expiry on the 3gb?
