Thank you! My wife has been stressing that I havent picked a cot yet. LOL. Tight-ass level: Baby

  • Can I lay-buy this?

    • Don't think so I went in store and it's a clearance item. My local store (mt gravatt) only has the black one left.

  • We had a look at IKEA, and their cots seemed perfectly nice and cheap. With a first baby coming, and basically no idea when it comes to these things, is this cot supposedly better quality or is it just a matter of aesthetics and paying for a brand name?

Just starting to think that it might make sense to keep an eye out and pick out some bargains as we come across them since we do have quite a few months until they are needed. Despite good discount, I'm not sure why this was more expensive to begin with and if it's just because it's from a more expensive store.

  • A cot from Ikea and most cost under $300 Rrp are not sturdy, move too easily and aren't strong. These can easily be picked up with one hand no strength. You need a more solid sturdy cot for under $500 you can still get fantastic solid cots. I had a $1200 boori cot but was too big and extremely heavy so I sold it and got a boori Matilda on sale for $400 mattress Inc. If quality doesn't bother you then Ikea is great. Alot of online stores if you ring them and are nice actually beat prices and give you free delivery and free assembly.

I put everything together last night. It appears solid to me, and better than my old lovencare ($150 or so). Haven't been able to compare to Ikea (rumor has it that it will be in Canberra next year), but so far I am happy with it.
