    GPU: Powercolor 5450 2GB | around $50

Isn't this slower than onboard video?

    • +2

It is slower, pretty much a massive waste of time and would be better off with -$30 from the price… Or a 1TB drive instead?

      • Good suggestion, I guess different users have different way to use the PC.
We are happy to offset the GPU and pump the HDD to 1TB, maybe just create another listing, what do you think Shaw?

        • Just edit this listing.

        • @bargainaus:
Actually there is another listing without the graphic card but with
          1TB HDD :)

          see link here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Quad-Core-i5-4460-3-2Ghz-8G…

Hope the information is helpful :)

        • Theres is only a price difference of $7 according to MSY between 500gb WD blue and 1tb WD blue
          http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf
while according to your competition price listing for the GPU that gpu is worth 50 dollars

          $509.15 -$50 = $459.15
          $459 +$7 (difference between 500gb & 1tb WD blue)=$466.16

that number looks more apealing as most people would simply add there own GPU as that current one wouldnt cut it neither would onboard.

          @holden93:

Thanks Holden, but remember your calculation is based on the discounted price, which is only going to happen on Sunday via eBay :)

If you like to add a GPU, pls ensure to checkout the listing $599 with discount on Sunday down to $509 , ebay item number : 281438388150

        • @hotpete:
that makes it the same price while theres only a 7 dollars difference between 500gb and 1tb so your paying 43 dollars more form something that has a retail price of 7 dollers more. better off going with this flogging off both gpu and HDD on gumtree an buying 1tb from MSY.

        • @holden93:

You can keep comparing the parts like this, but I think you're misleading yourself. The computer is only cheap because it's a bundle provided on Ebay with the 15%, this is the bargain.

        • @plmko: you can build it yourself for very slightly more like $20 more.

    • It's to provide a dedicated graphical process for users who need that extra kick :)
Hey, but for around $500 for an Intel i5 machine, not too bad, and pls remember
UPGRADES are always available for customisations :)

      • +3

so…why not remove the GPU, drop the price $50, and show GPU as an option.

It certainly doesn't cost $50 to go from a 500Gb to 1Tb HDD. According to MSY's prices on the WD Blue its only $7…

It's all about have the 'BEST price' here mate, not the 'next-best price'. This is Oz BARGAIN.

  • Anyone know the discount code ???

    • +2

there is no discount code, just wait until tmr on eBay and watch the magic happen :)

  • +1

Hey rep… got any upgrade packs that are good value… just MB,RAM and CPU ?

    • +1

Hi Cozmo, absolutely a fantastic suggestion, let me see if an upgrade kit can be uploaded soon :)

  • the question is, is this system worth the premium over the AMD A8-7600 system from the other PC deal?

    • +1

CPU bench mark says it all :)

      I5 4460 : 6732 points

      AMD A8-7600 : 5298 points

      reference: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html

CoolerMaster cases are always considered to be a premium brand, nothing wrong with Huntkey, but we are talking about a Fuji Apple vs Granny Smith :)

      • +3

but they are $100 cheaper than yours after the ebay discount. the 489 is default pricing.

  • +6

Ummm.. If you can cut the GPU and bring the price to $50 cheaper, I might be jump on this.

    • Agreed, ready to pull the trigger but don't need the 'small' hard drive or crappy GPU

      • +3

agreed both of yours, package should cut the HDD and GPU, let king to choose
15% off that ebay offer us not the seller. seller get full payment. This is chance that smart seller will pump up sales. Best offer your products and value should be highly considered. OZbargain

  • Nice & quiet lol

  • This one seems to address the concerns above - it has a slightly faster i5, the same motherboard, a 1TB disk, no crappy GPU and is $40 cheaper on pre Ebay discount price comparison:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Quad-Core-i5-4570-3-2GHz-8G…

    • +1

The case and power supply however is generic.
There's no front USB 3.0 ports either, but the main concern is the reliability of the power supply.

I wouldn't recommend this option. Yes you do save a little bit, but the PSU is not something you should skimp on.

      • Ok, thanks. What is the problem with these cheap power supplies? Do they spike or do they fail or is it some other issue?

        • If it has a major failure or something badly goes wrong it can destroy 1 or more components in your pc like the motherboard ram GPU.

        • +1

They all have major design flaws, cheap capacitors that fail early, bad heatsinking, poor circuitry design, all sorts of corners cut to ensure the PSU can be made as cheap as possible but also sacrificing reliability in the process.

          http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/low-cost-psu-pc-power-su…

        • @scrimshaw: Id much rather a Corsair then the cheap brand called Shaw for example.

but thats not to say good well know brands won't fail my thermaltake case came with a thermaltake 500 watt PSU and it died sparking and shit lucky nothing of my pc died aswell.

  • eBay has asked us to put up an awesome deal to celebrate their 15 years Sunday Sale Event, i.e 15% off.

I don't think you've delivered on the awesome price Rep.
The idea of the 15% off is to give buyers a great deal and allow sellers to turn some stock over.
Set your price at a real bargain then allow us to get the 15% off it and you will turn some real stock over.
Try and take advantage of the 15% off as a seller and you may get better margin but it's at the risk of low or no stock turn over.

  • +1

Please OP listening to the howling masses of people crying out for the 1TB HD, getting rid of the 5450 and offseting the price accordingly.

Who in their right mind could possibly want the 5450? It adds NO value to the system. I would simply end up pulling it straight out of the system and it would then sit in a box somewhere until I take it to the electronic waste disposal depot.

    • Really has no reason to, OP is running a business, not a charity. Not everything goes the customer's way..

If it doesn't suit your needs those always another choice- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Quad-Core-i5-4460-3-2Ghz-8G…

      • That might be true but as you said they are running a business and thats requiers their product to be sold that won't happen with unhappy potential customers.

        • +3

This deal could have 100+ upvotes like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161002 and probably sell a fair few units come Sunday if OP listens. Or it can just be ignored with 3 upvotes.

I would think it is better to make sales and still be left with a bunch of 5450s sitting in storage vs making no sales and having those 5450s still sitting in storage.

  • +6

its obvious that OP isn't gonna listen to the masses, he knows the card is crap but they got a sh!t load back in the storage and he thinks this is a good way of getting rid of em. prove me wrong OP

  • Hmm the price for the build seems ok, compared to what I had planned anyway.
For both the $599 and $505 build, upgrading both the MB to H97M, GPU to R9 270x and RAM to 8GB for the $505 one.

    $599 + $42 MB + $299 GPU = $940, -15% = $799
    $505 + $42 MB + $299 GPU + $52 RAM = $898, -15% = $763

My current build, parts from MSY
    *CPU: Intel i5 4460 $201
MB: AS rock H97M Pro $107
    RAM: Patriot 8GB (4gbx2) $89
    GPU: Sapphire R9 270X $219
    HDD: Wd 3.5" Blue 1TB $62
Case: Coolermaster k350 / k380 /N400 $53-59 (Any experts who can give advice on which one is best?)
    PSU: Corsair cx500 $79

Optical drive: stealing from old computer $0

    Total: ~$810 + $70 (assembly fee) = $880*

As for the OS, is it possible to buy/download a legit OS key from Dreamspark or MS Store and give it to the OP or MSY (who ever's building) to install? Or will they need a retail version with CD?

  • Also, one thing Im confused about REP.

    -> Paypal
To use PayPal, go to https://www.paypal.com.au, and send payment to: [email protected]

So we can't purchase through ebay (so payment is linked to ebay)?

  • +1

Ended up going the other seller who was very accommodating, replied to questions promptly and gave me the confidence that they could deliver a good product!
