Why do u need water on a cast iron grill? Even if u do why can't u just use a $1 spray bottle and your existing BBQ brush..

Webber also advise not to use water, as it will rust (I have pictures) :)

      • I always wondering what to use after BBQ.

        • Oil, either spray if it's still hot or use a brush if it's cold.

        • Light it up on high for 5 mins so all the residue burns off.. Scrape off the grates with a metal brush and spray oil to season.

      • This is from the weber q manual:

Immediately after removing your food, while the grill is still very hot, dip the grill brush in cold water
and brush along the grill bars where food residue remains.

  • Anyone tried one of these? is it any good?

    • +7

      Yes. No.

Thank you, you just save me $19!:)

        • -1

yes but if you try two of these maybe it's different :P
          P.S. I actually got a K-mart one for Father's day, haven't tried it yet

  • Whats the easiest and best way to clean the BBQ Grill? Crap always gets stuck in-between and I have been using my Weber Brush but it only really cleans the top

      Eat at someone else's place.

      • good work

  • I got one of these. From Kmart for $19.
They are rubbish. I end up just using paper to clean >.<

If you have a Weber/charcoal grill, you don't need this. Just crank up the air and let the flames burn the bits off and use a wire brush for good measure. Same goes for if you don't use for it a while and it rusts over.

  • at such high temps you are going to kill any bacteria anyway..I got one for a gift and told the wife to take it back.

  • I learned one thing after reading the comments - BBQ stoves can be kinda "pyrolytic" LOL

(I guess I have been doing too much research on my new kitchen recently…)

  • My friend got given a new bbq cooked on it cleaned it and a week later opened it up and it was rusty.

Read the instructions which say don't clean and don't use water. The oil and residue protect the BBQ. If needed scrape and brush before cooking and not after.

I wonder if these are good on the stainless steel barbies at the park
