For those asking you DO NOT need to watch the games through a proxy. Its only for signing up

NBA League pass for the 2014-15 season has just become available.
The Australian price is $248.99 for the standard subscription and $302.99 for the premium subscription.
Using an overseas proxies reduces the price down to a more realistic point compared to the amazingly inflated price us aussies face.
Last year i used a Brazilian proxy and it worked really well and i had no problems or security issues.
The Brazilian price this year is $119.99 USD which at 4/9 works out to be just under $130AUD.
India and Thailand brought about similar prices. If you feel like testing other countries and find a cheaper price please let me know.

The method i used is as follows:

go to http://proxylist.hidemyass.com/ and find a suitable proxy with good speed and connection strengh
input the proxy into your computer, i had to use a proxy for HTTP and HTTPS as the website uses both through the signing up process.
reset your browser and go to nba.com/leaguepass. Sign up and pay, i used my credit card and used my personal address as the biling address.
once your account is set up remove the proxy settings log into your account and change your password just to be safe.

Enjoy. You can use the service on computers/phones/tablets/xbox/ps/appletv

Hey guys signed up cause had to ask this cause who wants to pay 300 a year not me, and with computer knowledge not being my strong point thought i would ask.
anyway I mainly would use the league pass app on ps3/4 so i was wondering if being in aus and used a proxy to sign up from Argentina or somewhere cheap would i still be able to use that account on the playstation?

  From my understanding the PS4 and PS3 don't support League Pass unless you live in the US. I have tried mucking around with it - signing up with a US address - and managed to download the program but still couldn't get it to run on my PS4 (it wouldn't accept my username/password).
  Hopefully someone clever knows how to do it

    What I did last year was the following
    
    1.buy league pass via indian proxy.
    2.go to USA PSN store and download the NBA APP
    3.log out of usa psn account
    4.log into Australian (main) psn account
    5.log into NBA APP using normal password/account
    
    I was able to watch all games on my Aus PS3 with no proxys or anything.

Yes, unless they have changed things from all previous years (and no signs that they have). The proxy is only required for the sign up. Once you have an account you just log in as you would any other site (i.e. you turn the proxy off once you've signed up).

  The workaround seems to be to change to a country that uses paypal, such as Canada.

ye I just tried zambia, algeria, argentina, india, seychillas, indonesia and theyre all about $150-160 AUD a month so seems like all the prices have come back to around $140USD for the PREMIUM yearly package

Although I did get a messaged saying it didn't work at first, but when I tried it again it said I already have purchased this package, so I checked my CC and it was processed and I logged in via normal account and I'm registered for the new season :)

So..people who subscribed last year via indian proxy should cancel their subscribed package otherwise they will charge you the normal price -10% discount ..am I right? Becuause so far no one could confirm if the same price from what we paid last year will be charged.

For any one interested in Ballstreams, I am selling my account that has 1 year subscription.

I am selling only because the internet connection I have does not have enough bandwidth to support the streams.

It's a great service with HD 3200Kbps 60fps streams with no game breaks so you get to see all the half time reports etc.

I'd be willing to sell at a cheaper price than Ballstreams offers.

Easier solution is to install the Hola addin for your browser, select the country in the addin and check the price on the nba site. Very simple.

      If you login via proxy the price does change though… its still a big risk to stay subscribed and be charged the Australian price.

Alright, I just logged into my account using the Hola Chrome Extension, and chose Zambia.
My account page now states that my renewal fee is going to be USD$89.99.

This is so confusing. Does that mean we should fake our address to Zambia so that it charges that ? haha.

similar thing here… logged in under usual australia and they wanted to charge $260ish… changed to zambia and logged in again $118.99US for premium, looks like that might be the way to go about $135aud for premium. checked brazil was $135.99US and couldn't find any cheaper than zambia at this stage

    Ok so what this guy is talking about is using HOLA then going to billing details and it will give the countrys price minus the 10% for your previous subscription. I don't know how to make use of this though, I could leave HOLA on when they auto charge my CC and it would come to 135 AUD through Zambia. If it doesn't work though id be charged full price.

    hmm interesting… when you go to MY ACCOUNT then MY PACKAGES, it shows the discounted rate of $118US when using Zambia proxy. unfortunately there is no "re-new" button to pay that amount and im guessing if i let it roll over it wont roll over on that subscription rate? might have to do what everyone else is doing and cancel and then pay the 139US

I'm having a little trouble finding my renewal price or a cancel button in my account. Signed up via Indian proxy last year and have no idea whether I'll be charged Oz price on renewal. I tried to just tried to renew mine and am not sure what the status is at the moment.

Signed up last year with Indian proxy.
Tried to renew this year with Cameroon (viaHola plugin), but when I buy the package it tells me I am already subscribed to this package.
Went to My Packages and cancelled my current subscription (it shows it will be renewed automatically in $XAF).
Tried to buy the package again and it gave the same message saying I was already subscribed.
My packages shows I'm still subscribed to League Pass Reg + Playoffs, with no button to cancel. My credit card hasn't been billed.

Anyone else in the same boat?

edit: I've just changed my billing address to one in Cameroon (US Embassy lol) just in case.

  Yeah. I am having the same issue after clicking "cancel my 2014-2015 subscription". Package still shows I am still subscribed. I am just waiting for the trial period to expire before trying again using another country. And if NBA does charge me I will lodge a complaint. :)

      I've tried emailing [email protected] before to sort out my registration problem (didn't work with my gmail account so I have to use my ISPs email now), and they never got back to me.

  I took inspiration from you eciuj, and I changed by billing address to the Aussie embassy in Argentina. Also, I did this while using the Hola plugin for Chrome so I was using an Argentine VPN. I'm not sure if using a VPN was necessary or just changing your country is enough.
  
  Anyway, after updating my credit card details, I checked the billing price and it is now approx, AUD$135 for the premium package! When my address was in Australia, it was around $280.
  
  So I'm hoping that when they bill my credit card on 6 November, it will be this new, lower amount (plus a few bucks for foreign currency fees).

    The billing address can be used to validate your credit card. It has nothing to do with the pricing. The VPN is what changes the cost.

Quality isn't as good as I expected… It's a bit choppy (occasionally). A bit better than the best free streams I've found… But at least I can get all the games like this.

  Different games are streamed in different resolutions depending on who/where it's filmed. And it's usually choppy at the start of the year when they are sorting things out. After a couple of weeks, I can run a full game at full quality without it buffering.

  So after a bit of playing around and some helpful info from people here (cheers zuccs), this is what I've worked out:
  
  If you have an existing account, then LP will want to charge your credit card around 5 Nov. Your credit card details will be checked against what billing address (country only?) you enter. So you CAN'T enter another country and expect it to work on billing day.
  
  The only solution I found is to create a new account. Yes, you don't get the small discount of a returning customer, but that's nothing in comparison to the saving you'll make using a VPN.
  
  The important part in choosing a payment option is to choose either of the "Purchase" options, NOT the "Try it Free" options. That will get your credit card charged straight away (or within a few hours) using whatever currency and rate you chose with your VPN. I chose the Standard package using Argentina with Hola plugin for Chrome - amount charged to my CC was about $114 (there will probably be a couple of dollars in foreign currency fees charged as well soon). I used my Aussie credit card and my actual address and it worked fine. This is pretty much exactly what I did last year - I just had to create a new account.

So far i'm only down to around $160AUD.

I'm certain we had it cheaper last year, but that was with a Premium code. Hope they release the codes soon.

  I just signed up today using Malawi as the country. For Premium, it was MWK 60,699.99 — which converts to less than AUD$150 (using both XE and Google conversions).
  It definitely seems to be the cheapest, the others were all around AUD$160 or more, as you've found.

  Don't bother with manually entering proxies. It's too much effort to change proxies, find it doesn't work then have to try another one, and so on.
  
  Install Chrome and add the Hola plugin. It's dead easy.

guys I forgot to cancel my subscription before the season open, they auto renew it, I use spain last year and I just found out in my banking they charge me only $126 to renew it , which is not too bad, I don't know how that happen as I thought be full price, should I just leave as it is or get refund
