    Oh is it? Unsure of recent times as I haven't bought a JW Black for a while. But I do remember the price was around the mid 40's and double black was $10 more expensive.

    Ah well, if it's always $39, then that's a great thing!

      It has always been $39 or $40 when i buy them.

  Not a bad drop for this price, much better than Johnnie Walker Red.

  Other good scotch I'd consider at this price range would be Famous Grouse and Bailie Nicol Jarvie

  I used to think that $40 was a good price for this or the Chivas until I realised that you can actually buy proper single malt for the same price. It doesn't have the marketing budget of JW, but is a much better Scotch nonetheless IMHO.
