  • People buy stock OEM earbuds? Normally, earbuds that come with phones usually get left unused in their original packaging…

    • -3

it's apple everything from them is the best obviously.

    • Yes I have bought several, I think they are good value at this price. I lost mine on a plane and they fit my ears really well. I have some fancy Klipsch earphones that fall out all the time.

    • Genuine Kogan EarPods $12 shipped

I'm curious why my comment is being voted down. Is this not a valid use of negative vote as per the voting guidelines or are we just downvoting anything we don't like now?

      Appropriate uses of negative vote

      • Cheaper price elsewhere
        • Mention store or URL and price making sure to include shipping.
      • Because Apple fanbois.

        • Maybe you are a little paranoid, or a fanbois of something else.

It could be simply that the links to 2 of those ebay sites are

          1. Secondhand $19.95
          2. 5c Cheaper

and the other is only $1 cheaper.

It could simply depend on which link the negative voter may have clicked on.

And given that is a negative vote rather than just a comment.?

Whyyy would you pay for these? :S

  • +7

The only place I could trust buying those is from Apple store or shops like Dick Smith / JB HiFi.

  • +1

If its too true to be good, probably fakes.

    • +5

Lol. It's not the like the orginals sound that good anway, and it's all made in China

      Wouldn't touch these anyway.

      • +4

        What isn't made in China…

        • My headphones aren't made in China. Ireland. xD

It really shits me when people mouth off about stuff they have no idea about. The earpods are the newer version of Apple's earphones and got high praise for the price.

Personally I love my Sennheiser cx 300 ii but for regular music listening or if you need the inbuilt controls, these are great for the price.

However, this seller is probably off loading fakes.

    • When you get off the can

      It really shits me..

If you click on a posters name, you can see their posting and comment history, that way you can check what their product preferences and knowledge is. From that you can get some idea of what value they can add to the discussion.

I have quite a good amount of knowledge on audio, probably a lot more than you. These are still shit, even for $20.

      • +4

quite a good amount of knowledge on audio

Sure you do champ. Sure, you do. I'm really impressed, oh wise one!

        • -1

I was playing round with my pair of these last week. You couldn't actually tell there were backup vocals. It's not even a subjective 'they're shit'. They really are just shit. If they work for you though that's fine. I just don't want anyone to think these are worth money.

        • @Benno123:
Tell me more! Tell me more! Save us all mighty sound expert!

Btw, currently using my Sennheiser CX300ii. Earpods don't "work for me". But I'm not so arrogant to feel the need to call other brands shit.

          @Benno123:

To me someone who has great audio experience would use more informative terms rather than "shit".

Impart your wisdom, and assist those who really would like to know why not, otherwise why even bother to say anything in the first place.

Old pre-computer saying "if it doesn't add, it detracts"

    • I don't believe engadget are an impartial source. I like how they claim their best in class without comparing against others in their price range. I've tried these before, and it isn't difficult to find better sounding earphones for similar price or even less.

      • With mic, inline volume controls, 12 month over the counter immediate replacement warranty and available in store for $39? Not saying they're the best, but they aren't terrible (which the previous generation were).

        • I guess voting down is easier than admitting you were wrong.

        • @PainToad:

Nope I'm too busy working to have seen your comment yet. But anyways here's a plus to make you feel better. :)

  • Beware there's been fake apple accessories sold on groupon

    http://www.runaroundtech.com/2013/08/29/groupon-was-selling-…

Buyer need to be mindful groupon don't handle the products.

    • All the deal sites are dodgy as hell. I would honestly trust ebay over them.

    • -2

i didnt see any evidence let alone proof on that site u linked too……….

i mean the title has a blood question mark??

      were they? we dono,

yet, you come in here based on that article claiming that they are and feel comfortable with no real proof to come upw ith a decisive conclusion, perhaps you are priviey to some other evidence we havent seen or the author didnt write?

      boggles the mind.

  • These ear pods and the Kogan ones are "just" fakes, or if you lived in Asia the term "Original Copy" is used.

End of the day, you pay for what you get, in this particular case you can buy the $3.48 (delivered) eBay ones, you can buy the Kogan version and when you compare them against Apple originals - you would NOT hear the difference because even the Apple originals produce "ok" sound.

On the other hand, Beats originals compared to "Original Copy" at tenth of the price, yeah, you'll be disappointed.

Life peoples, live on, smile, know what you get when you get it.

  • Fake or real ?

    • Scroll up a few inches :-P

    • +1

      Fake. Not authorised Apple seller.

    • +1

      OK. Thanks :-)

Negging because fake. Never support counterfeiters and those who try to pass off counterfeit products as genuine
