Continuing from the discussion at the bottom of this thread earlier in the month, I have been to a STIHL store and based on the size and slopes of my property they recommended the FS55RC which is the top of the range homeowner model.
I'm just wondering what you guys think of the difference between a unit like this and the FS38 which is a low $199 now in the fathers day catalog! $50 off, while the FS55RC is only $30 off.. $449 from $479 (both prices are ouch).
Would anyone recommend I settle half way, on the FS45R which is down to $289 from $329? or just stick with the cheapy? OR even go all out on the $450 model?
I'd get a 38…it's not like you're getting a bigger motor with the other models.
Good choice though, I think I've sunk >$2k in Stihl stuff in the past 2 years and loving every single one of them.
