It asks for a coupon code and a security code???

    • The security code can be left blank. It is just a means of extra security which I haven't activated for this coupon. For coupon code just use "ozbargain"
      Cheers.

I get this message when I try to check out "The entered code is not valid. The code is case sensitive, please check it again or enter another."

        • Same here

        • You must have used the code wrong as its is all small letters. At this point I can see 12 people have signed up, so its just you. Anyways try it a few more times and if it still does not work for you, sign up for the basic plan, shoot me an email and I will upgrade you.
          Cheers.

        • Ok it just worked all good :)

        • @justbijay:
I signed up, tried like a dozen combination of ozbargain with and without case.I reccomend you testing it yourself again to make sure, since you might end up having to deal with a ton of emails otherwise.

        • Thanks @AmerD
I had tried the coupon code myself and it was working fine. Lets see how we go. Anyways welcome aboard. @Chuppa and @stockpimp

        • @justbijay:

didn't work for me too even though I put all lower case

          update: all good now

          thanks

        • @AmeryD: reload the coupon page without submitting the form again. Then try the code - that worked for me.

        • The entered code is not valid. The code is case sensitive, please check it again or enter another. just keep getting this message. I have typed it lower case.

        • @justbijay:

It costs $99 to sign up for the basic plan..

        • @Ocean:
I think you missed the ZERo and Dot in front of 99

Thanks for the heads up guys, the coupon issue has been fixed now.

    • hi, just registered but error coupon is not valid appears.. have all 200 spots been filled? here's hoping for 1 slot thx

  • +1

A suggestion, you might be better off setting this to free sign ups for a day or two rather than limit to 200. The reason being is that the 200 may end up going to ozbargainers that may never use the product but sign up simply because its free and stop more genuine devs from getting a chance to sign up for free. If you limit it to a few days at least you might actually get some developers to see the offer and actually use it, then help spread the word. Just my 1c worth (its ozbargain, no one pays 2c).

    • +1

you are right Gravy however i cannot stop the aspiring devs in the ozbargainers that signed up at 6am in the morning. Thanks for your suggestion though.

      • I'd probably be more inclined to make the selection process for the free accounts a little more selective for maximum impact, so perhaps advertise the freebies on forums that are heavily frequented by fledgling developers OR first time app developers who cant actually code and not just bargain hunters. No reason why you cant do both though and see which method works best for your marketing(OZBargain and other forums Im mean).

As far as the 6am aspiring app devs go, I guess you'll find out soon enough if they were genuinely interested or just addicted to freebies. I'm not saying there are no developers or aspiring developers on here (there are), just that you may be wasting the 200 freebies with a scattergun approach. Hope you guys do well either way. :)

  • Thanks for this. Had a couple of ideas for utilities I wanted to build for myself, but couldn't justify the time to learn to develop for another platform. I look forward to giving this a try.

  • I've signed up. Hope to find sometime to try it soon.

    • Ok I signed up using my Android phone.
First I signed up for the free account.
Then "subscribed" to the Premium plan. Entered the code. All seemed good.
Now I go back and I can't confirm if I'm on the premium plan anymore?

Rep you need to work on your UX and/or backend…

  • Thanks, but the code is not working properly?

  • Yeah could not register. I got error with coupon code as well.

  • I'm trying to sign up on my Android phone and I can't seem to find where to put in the code to go on premium plan.

    • it's on the second page if you used the link in the op's post
Code still not working 1st time though

    • Ok found where to put the coupon code but it now fails.

    • Signed up fairly easy on Android phone. That was at 6:30am.

  • Not working in IE or Firefox on Windows PC or android phone default browser - Is it chrome that is working for everyone?

  • I'm now late for work because of this faulty offer. No good review from me

  • +1

Signed up, coupon code doesn't work.
looking forward to using if can get access.

  • -1

Just make sure your spelling the code right. No problems here on firefox.

    • +1

maybe all the ones its working for are spelling it wrong (including the OP) because ozbargain IS NOT WORKING

  • +1

Doesn't work, says = The entered code is not valid. The code is case sensitive, please check it again or enter another.

  • Does not work on android browser

    • Worked for me on cheap Android phone. But got in early at 6:30.

  • +1

Same error as others. Possibly a good app but we'll never know :(

  • +1

I'd say they have the 200 by now, but maybe not with the number of people having errors. In either case looks like OP has is mailing list and has gone back to bed

  • Code doesn't work, android chrome and firefox, tried copy and paste and type with both browser.

Wasted 10 minutes and signed up to a service I would have not.

Despite someone was able to sign, Is dodgy getting registrations this way.

Disappointed, and I was looking forward to test it since I'm working on a project will require some service like this,
    Any suggestion for similar services?

  • I think in respect we got in before the 200, the rep should give us access, since we tried but didn't work, please send a registration, thanks.

  • Didn't work

  • Confirming still not working. Sent them an email from the website. Hopefully get the upgrade.

  • +1

Signup at 630am and code did work. So I think it is more than 200 already.

    • Well, that's no doubt what the Rep will tell us.

  • +1

Code not working. Tried several times.

  • +1

I don't think they would have hit the 200 that quickly as there was less than 200 views when I tried to sign up earlier. I suspect they have had issues on their end.

    • +1

Yeah 120 clicks for me and it didn't work on chrome for android..ironic.

  • The entered code is not valid. The code is case sensitive, please check it again or enter another.

  • Not valid

  • Hi everyone. I could not register at first as well. Seems like the trick is to put a space into the Security code field or at least put focus on it. This trick worked out for me. Good luck

    • This trick did not work for me on Firefox (space or focus)

  • I have a multiple platform app idea rep,
I call it the "Signup App" or go fancy and call it "S-APP"
Anyway, it contains a big red button with an imbedded hyperlink to your badass signup page, and after 3 successful failure messages, it takes you back to S-APP and you get a second window so you can press a try again button thats hyperlinked to your badass signup page.
The rest i'll leave up to you.

  • Tried it and it doesn't work for me either. Signed up for basic account. Can upgrade it for me?

  • Not working for me either :( IE11.

  • Doesn't work for me :(

  • After reading people signed up to the free one, tried that coupon too - that doesn't work either. I think your coupon site is buggered.

  • The entered code is not valid. The code is case sensitive, please check it again or enter another.

Doesn't bode well for a development site!

Any chance you can apply the plan manually if we post you our usernames?

  • Doesn't work for me either… tried the space in the security field too. :(

  • -1

Sorry guys had to catch up with a doctors appointment. I had enough coupons for 200 people so thats why the coupon does not work anymore. I have got my 200.

  • Doesn't work!

Anyways since I would like to apologise for not being here in time although circumstances were not in my favour, those of you who have actually commented here on the thread, please pm me and will pm you a code.
BUT ONLY FOR THE ONES WHO TOOK THE TIME TO COMMENT.

    • still waiting for my code. Have you sent them yet?

      • Did you try PM'ing it in lower case?
        Maybe its just you ..

    • Hi, I sent you a PM but no response?

  • Tried from 9am, but failed. Just found it's expired now.

  • Site looks good. I saw this at 7am but my data usage on my phone was low, so couldn't continue any further. Seems like a great concept. Hopefully a few good apps come from this, and a few more basic spots are released.

  • You can always try the basic plan with coupon code free

  • What a great concept and generous deal… Looking forward to creating my first app!

  • Thanks.
    Questions:
    a. Can I make my app available in the android play store?
    b. Lets say, I have a website which lists various product. I am build simple app where I just want a "Add A Product" form in the app. So, I can take photos with mobile and directly upload to my website database via the app?

    • a> yes you can however you will need to sign up as a developer with google play.
b> It depends on how skillful you are with scripting languages. You can create anything as long as you know what you are doing. As far as providing that functionality in our drag and drop interface, its not available as a readymade template. We have functions to take pics and function that can send it to a web server but putting it to work would be your job.

      • Thanks.
        a. So, you are basically mobile app equivalent of Weebly.com?

        b. There is app for realestate listing in there. What happens when I create new listing and add photos? Do they all go to your database?
Or everything is local to my phone.

So, all apps are just personal apps local to phone only.

  • Few questions for the store rep:

Is it transferable (e.g. if someone here who signed up decides they don't need it anymore can they pass it to another OzBargainer?)
Is it true that if you create an app then if you stop your subscription your app will stop working until payment is made?
Can you downgrade your subscription after making an app if it has in-app purchases and retain full functionality?
If instead I decide to "buy" my app (for $199!!!), do I need to retain subscription services? And if not, how do I update my app?
I am interested in creating a simple app with the option of an in-app purchase but do not think that to begin with I would be generating a guaranteed $29.99 per month (after the store takes their cut) to pay the subscription service fees to keep the app going. And the "buy" option for an app I created seems fairly steep.

  • @1stOzBarginer
No its not transferrable however if they use your account using your credentials then its upto you. However our terms and conditions do not allow you to do that.
Yes if your subscriptions stop your app will stop functioning, however you can always buy out your app so that you don't have deal with the subscription service.
For devs like you who cannot afford to pay 29.99 per month we can always custom tailor the plans depending on your needs.
Email us with subject ozb-QandA and I am pretty sure we can work something out. We don't want anyone to be left behind.

    • pls explain "buy out your app"? you mean we write the app using your system, and we do not own it??

  • Quick question for the OP.
How are you supposed to preview an app?

I tried to "install on device" and I searched the Play Store for Mobalon for Android but your free viewer doesn't exist, have I missed something?

    • It will be published on play in a few days as it is under review from play store authorities. However I can provide you with the apk of the previewer if you are interested for now.

      • Thanks for letting me know, I can wait a few days.

  • -2

Buying out an app was added onto the portal as some users wanted to create and the sell the apps with no strings attached to them.
This site is more of a subscription based site which you pay to lease our resources, send automated updates, streamline the submission process, get feedback on your app, push notifications from, etc which are basically the services we provide.
But when you buy out, we hand you the rights you just pay out the cost of the app which will be the same for all apps created using our services. However having said that we are discussing about a revised fee structure where even buying out apps in my guess would be a lot cheaper.

Also in the near future we will set up the system where we would offer buy out plans where there will be no subscriptions.
