Man I just got an iPad and I'm having a really hard time finding any worthwhile games to play. I saw this and got excited until I saw the in-app purchase nonsense and timers.

I know those kinds of apps make more money but it's really annoying having to scan every game and check reviews so I don't get owned by extra purchase paywalls:(

  I agree they're killing mobile gaming - but for now this is probably the most profitable model for mobile game developers.

  Some of the games on Appstore (which many of them are hard to find) are absolutely fantastic. Touch Arcade does a pretty good job reviewing many of the games with in-app purchases in mind.

  Personally, FTL and Heathstone drains most of my gaming experience on iPad and I'm currently thinking about selling my 3DS.
