  Are these iphone or android ones?

  I bought the iphone ones last time and this adapter allowed the sound to come through clear and the button to work. the volume rocker didn't work though.

    Did you try them on an android headphone. The wiring is different that's why they sound bad. Buy that adapter I linked to above and it will sound much better. You can try them on your pc to see what they should sound like. Actually I also noticed that if you press the button down it can also correct the sound but you have to leave the button down.
