starts tomorrow Tuesday 18th August 2009

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the Coles weekly specials are available via their online store, are they? Everything is full price…

    • +1

There are some specials, but they are not as good as in store prices.

      • also, you don't get 'clearance' items / manually marked down products when shopping online. which is a downside when you;re a tight-ass like me lol.

    • +1

In my experience most items that are on special for a week or longer tend to be on special in the online store as well, but online prices are a little higher across the board.

    • +1

All catalogue specials are the same in store as they are online, except for Multibuys (i.e 2 for the price of 1). On top of that, there are also online exclusive specials that are not found in store, and some products that are only sold through our online store.

  • Way more expensive online, so you end up paying way more anyway. But i just dont like them picking the fruit and vege's as they grab any old piece, not normally as fresh as if you pick it out yourself

    • I've actually been impressed with the fruit & vegetable selections that I've received from Coles online in the past.

If you ever get a piece of fruit or veg from coles.com.au that you are not satisfied with, you have our 'no worries' guarantee to fall back on. Call us (or follow on twitter @colesonline) and let us know, we'll sort it out.

The free delivery is also available in Melbourne and Geelong for the same details above.

      • What will happen if I get a bad pear? Do I return it?

Case by case we deal with problems. We've got our Customer Care team (1800 455 400 6am - 10.30pm Mon - Fri, 7am - 6.30pm Sat & 10am - 8pm Sun local time) that will help you if this happens.
Though we do have a top notch team of personal shoppers that pick your produce and make sure such occurances are rare.
Bad fruit and veggies are one of the myths of shopping online (but I would say that, wouldn't I?).

You can view our no worries guarantee here - https://www.colesonline.com.au/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CML…

That probably explains it better than I can.

      • I don't want a guarantee, I want fresh fruit and veggies… Something sadly that is no longer available in Coles and Woolies… Most of what is in the shop has just come out of extended cold storage and it only takes one look to see it's not at it best.
I switched to our local fruit shop after some bad experiences at my local Coles… it's much fresher and often cheaper too…

        • Does your local fruit shop allow you to order online or deliver to your home? See, it's horse for courses. Personally, been using Coles Online for about 12 months, never had to send any fruit back yet, as fresh as you could ask for (touch wood - getting a delivery tonight).
Lack of Tuesday-night markdowns though, that is a -ve of online shopping. Not standing in a check out for 30 minutes though is a big enough +ve for me.

          • @RockSteady: I wouldn't buy my fruit online… I guarantee you that if you walked into my local coles, you can find mould growing on some of the fruit or veggies within 5 mins…

I could probably drive to my fruit shop, buy my goods and be back home within 15 mins…
Better quality, better price (often) and service with a smile…

            • @jv: …and fair enough too. Does the staff at the fruit shop either: 1) Do a really bad 'Con the fruiterer' impersonations or 2) Smack you in the face with a cucumber is you try to do a really bad 'Con the fruiterer' impersonation? I think they would be well within their rights to either.

  • Just got carried away singing up! -> coles online -> coles Gaint Gift -> then fly buy card -> Coles Group Source Mastercard. far out need a new wallet. any good bargins out there on new wallets? lol

    Everyone:

    Be careful about Coles Online!

I bought some Liquor from them, but they ran out of stock.

They emailed me and said they would get around to removing it off the site.

Instead of taking it off the site, they kept re-advertising it for nearly 2 weeks.

I wrote to the General Manager of Supermarkets, and he sent me a Gift Card and promised it wouldn't happen again.

So, be careful that what you order may not actually come in at all!

    • Next time, can you please post this bargain to Ozbargains - free gift cards all around!

    • +1

i used to work at a certain liquor store and this would happen quite often. the system takes into account the stock of coles, but not the stock of the liquor store next door. The easiest way to find out if they have stock, is to call the liquorland that is next door to a coles and simply ask. I understand it's a pain in the ass, but if its an important order then this is safer.

  • Awww, WA missed out :(

  • Why this in freebie?

  • Great offer - I've never tried them because I never wanted to pay them to deliver.
But I will try this time since its free, and there are a few things that I don't want to lug home!

However, one warning is that it wants a minimum $50 spend!
