Yatango New Lower Prices + Free 30 Day Trial eg 2GB 4G Data $15

190

Yatango have dropped their prices across the board.
Some would say they needed to as their 4G roll out pricing was too high.
Things have improved and there are some good deals in amongst the new pricing including the excellent FREE month with voice and 1GB included.
So what are they good for?
1/ Excellent free 30 day trial which includes 1GB of 4G data, 600mins of call time and 600SMS - very generous!
2/ For Tablet users you can get 2GB of 4G data for $15 per month (1GB for $11). The sweet spot is 2GB and $7.50GB seems pretty sharp considering its Optus 4G.

3/ $34 Unlimited Plan+ Data bolt on and "the community's most popular personalised plan" 200 Min Voice, 100 SMS & 500MB Data (4G) for $25.
https://yatango.com.au/mobile/#!/pricing/mobile

EDIT: You can get a FREE SIM card and avoid the $10 sim card fee If you port you number from another provider. A $2 Optus or Vodafone sim card would do the trick.

If you want to share the love, start by clicking through my referral link or one of the random Ozbargain ones.

This may be good for higher end users but for me, I was on PAYG voice and $5 for 200MB data which was sufficient because social media access was free. They are now removing the free social media access after 29/8 which is going to blow up my data usage but they did not reduce the price on the lower data plans (e.g. 200MB and 500MB). Not happy…

    • Yes thats true, they have pulled the social media bit although they were pretty upfront about it. New data prices are really not bad though. 2GB for $15 is pretty OK for 4G.

      • Just be careful on excess usage of data as they take your credit card details on signup.

4G data can get consumed very quickly.

Not sure how they charge excess data use and cant find any info on their website

        • I'll explain the way it works, briefly.

If you choose and enable a 'customised' plan before the end of the '30 day free-trial', the amount that plan adds up to will be debited from your credit card, and that plan structure will apply for the following month.

If you do not alter the plan-structure, that exact plan and the dollar amount associated with it will apply, ongoing.

If you underestimate your requirements in the plan-structure you choose, be it in relation to calls, or text, or data - when the quota of that component is used, you're stuck - until the monthly plan renews. You can't reboot an updated plan then and there.

If you wish to still make calls, or text, or use data (depending on which one of the three, two of the three, or if the whole trifecta is kaput), you have to add to a (completely separate - different to Amaysim) PAYG credit-balance ($10.20 minimum add) and pay the PAYG rates that apply, until your new plan/month kicks in.

  • Yes 2GB is the sweet spot at $7.50/GB… but its just daft that it then goes to $11.80/GB for 5GB …

    • Yes, the higher-end bolt-on monthly data pack prices remain unchanged and appalling: 5GB for $59; 10GB for $99. More than double their original prices.

      • Oh yes indeed. Gotta pick out the good bits. Their original 4G pricing blew, I'm guessing their new sign ups dropped right off but there are some OK deals in the revised prices. Pretty good for an iPad/Tablet.

KB instead of MB too is always a +ve

  • is it per MB increment or per kB?

    • Ok. Interesting. Changed since 4G introduction.
At least some decency in play from Yatango - in that respect.

For anyone in the thread with current Yatango account - and on 3G - make sure you activate 4G 'access' on your account landing-page/dashboard to get that per KB rounding-rate. Otherwise, still will be MB.

    UPDATE For Maximum Ozbargain Value
As mentioned by EasternCulture in a previous deal:
To avoid the $10 new SIM delivery charge on your Yatango free trial or new SIM, be sure to select "Bring Your Number". This makes it free.
Either use a still active but not needed number or activate a Voda or similar $2 SIM from the supermarket.

I just buy a $2 Yatango SIM from Dicksmith to avoid the hassle.

      • +1

I'm guessing that you won't get the 30 day free-trial that way, but let people know in the thread, either way.

        • You still get to choose the free trial when you activate.

        • @alanslho:
Ok, thanks. I assume that you have in fact already bought the SIM and proceeded all the way through the sign-up without difficulty?

If that's the case, that'll be good for some people to know - especially those who don't wish to port a number. $2 instead of $10 (+ a wait for delivery) will suit some.

  • Not a bad price for a mobile phone contract … and fairly flexible. I am still on the 1$ TPG plan but this might be a very nice alternative with 4G …

Ive been really impressed by Yatango - been with them since April. The deals keep getting better and i got fast delivery of SIM - lucky cause it was a bday present.
I ordered Nokia handset from them for my daughter ( first phone) and was expecting to be paying a lot more for her usage than she creates! I have the Yatango app on my phone to watch and top up with and see what she is using it with. The ability to "tune" where to put the money towards is i think unique and good for people with different usage patterns…eg: she doesnt use SMS as she uses kik/whatsapp - so why spend $ on SMS?

I think ill move the mother in law onto a Yatango sim… she's getting ripped off on the Telstra ipad sim.

    • Wow, that's quite the glowing testimonial, especially given that there are still so many other more compelling options, unless narrow-value, specific-level, seriously-do-your-sums, 4G prepaid is your poison.

I do hope that you're signed-up as one of OzB's fifteen referrers, and that you're gonna also get some of that sweet, sweet, referrer-credit by way of the mother-in-law.

      • Where do I sign up?

      • Well, I have put up my referral link plus the general Ozbargain one but I have never actually received any referral credit from them before but who knows, maybe this time, maybe not.

  • Props to you for sharing other people's referral link too even though you won't get anything out of it

    • There'll no doubt be a few takers.
Mods now require random referrer-links to be posted.
I still have an active Yatango SIM. I should probably sign-on.
      Maybe not.

    • Its not up to the poster, the referral links are added automatically

If you are considering optus network, and have around $60 per month to spend, then the $2 days prepaid plan is unbeatable.

500Mb per day for $2, then $2 for each additional 500Mb bucket that day.

Given that Yatango's unlimited calls/text + just 3GB of data plan costs $59 per month, you ain't wrong, my friend.

    • +1

Yep its good muzzamo but $60 per month.
Even better for those that signed up before the cut off point a few months back the original 3G $2 days. Unlimited daily data/calls.

  • +1

I'm on the $19 TPG Super plan and I get $500 a month of calls and 1GB of data. (that's what it's been recently nerfed to)

I don't see anything from Yantango that comes close to this. Or am I missing something? (Besides the 4G difference.)

    • That's a pretty big difference…

      • +2

Vaya 18$/month 600$ call, 1.5gb data (billed per mb though never reached high)

      • Spectator, just like the OP, you have missed the fact that 'Yatango' only has only one 'n' in it!

(Sorry, KT - but it has been 3½ hrs since the deal went up! I really thought that you may have noticed and updated by now…)

        • +1

Well I was looking at the web header when typing it in so makes sense…..tempted to leave it just to give you an eye twitch ;p

        • It's actually not the first time that an extra letter has found its way into a Yatango deal on OzBargain.

Oh, and don't worry about it… I reckon that my eyes must twitch while reading just about every OzB thread…
Spectator or participant - par for the course.

    • i got $550 credit.

    Anything free is good.

Be careful with Yatango about your personal info, credit card, etc

Was just browsing Yatango shopping and its logged me in someones account (Tien Vu)

    Proof http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/46868/24315/yatango.jpg

    • Happens to be Yatango's graphics designer? Maybe he forgot to remove his name from the testing templates before deploying it live :)

      • but it has his real email :D

anyway ive messaged him on his facebook to let him know .

        Thanks scotty

  • Pennysim go global is still cheaper for me.

  • Wish 200mb plan price has been decreased too

  • I wish $10 for 2 GB then I can combined with my skype unlimited plan. That will bring my cost $15/ month for unlimited call for 50 countries

    • Unlimited calls? You mean 300 minutes of calls right? What do you do with text?

Despite whatsapp, bbm, messenger, etc, I still find it impossible to live without SMS…

  • I think Vaya still cheaper… $650 and 1.5gb data for $18 pm.

For unlimited, Amaysim $40 with 4GB data I think is best. And they have best international rates as well…

  • Looks like Yatango referals are kaput
